Rent the Beach House alone or with the Guest House ($50 extra). The property is located on the southeast side of Quadra Island (about 5 km from Quathiaski Cove). Beach House is east facing with gorgeous views of the ocean, coastal mountains, sunrises and moonrises. 150 ft of walk on oceanfront, with a fire pit, ample sea life and bird viewing, including humpback whales and orcas from spring to fall, and bald eagles, cormorants and seals year round. Row boat and inflatable boat available for guest use. The Beach House is on the second floor of a converted barn, with beautiful modern and rustic finishings. It is an open concept space with a queen sized bed, built in couch, and seating area around the dinning room table. Private bathroom with a full bathtub and shower. There are about 10 stairs to access the front door, as well as the sundeck. The sundeck has a BBQ, dining table and chairs. The Guest House is an adorable 250 sq ft self-contained bunky, with a queen sized bed, pullout sofa bed, and full bathroom with shower. It is located approximately 50 meters from the beach house. You can rent the Beach House alone, or for an additional $50 both the Beach House and Guest House. When booking, please indicate whether you’d like to rent both. The Beach House and Guest House share the property with another house that is rented to a lovely long term tenant. The property is secluded and private. (For some reason Airbnb incorrectly lists the property as in Quathiaski Cove.) The Beach House and Guest House are on a quiet, secluded street on the southeast coast of Quadra Island. There are trails through rain forests (perfect for walking or running) and beach combing for miles. If you haven't been to Quadra Island yet, you're in for a treat. A closely kept secret, it has yet to be overrun by tourists and traffic like some islands further south. Quadra is not only stunning, it has so much to offer, including whale watching, sea kayaking, fishing, scuba diving, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, artisan stands, farmers' markets, music festivals, petroglyphs, and the fabulous Kwagiulth Museum and Cultural Centre. Swim in the ocean or in beautiful fresh water lakes in the summer. Climb mountains and see a 360 view of Vancouver Island, Desolation Sound, and the mainland mountains. Hike to Surge Narrows or Shellilaligan pass. Sing karaoke at the Heriot Bay Pub. Enjoy yoga, pickle ball, and other activities at the community centre. Eat at one of the many delicious restaurants on the island. There is so much to do here. Kay Dubois Provincial Park trail is 200 m away. Rebecca Spit Provincial Park is 8 km away, near Heriot Bay. A well stocked grocery store is 5 km away in Quathiaski Cove. Delicious restaurants open year round. Getting to Quadra Island is easy. It is a short ferry ride (10 minutes) from Campbell River, which is located 1.5 hours north of Nanaimo (on Vancouver Island). Alternatively, you can take a short flight from Vancouver to Campbell River, then a 10 minute cab ride from the Campbell River airport to the Quadra Island ferry terminal. Once you're on Quadra Island, you can get around by car, bicycle, foot, or taxi. The Beach House and Guest House is about 5 km from Quathiaski Cove and ferry to and from Campbell River on Vancouver Island. * Bring a cozy sweater, slippers, and rain jacket in the winter. * Bring sandals/shoes that can get wet in the summer (aqua socks?), although barefoot on the beach rocks is manageable. * Consider buying an "Experience Card" from BC Ferries for a 40% discount on the 10 minute ferry ride to Quadra Island.
