Quiet mountaintop with spectacular views - Ceiba
Villa Palmiche is a mountaintop two bedroom apartment that combines a comfortable stay with stunning panoramic views. This is an excellent home base if you want to get away from San Juan, but have convenient access to beaches (including Luquillo), rivers, El Yunque rainforest, snorkeling & scuba excursions, and much more. Appropriate for romantic couple getaways, solo adventurers, families with kids that need a little bit extra room, or business travelers that are looking for something unique. This mountaintop apartment combines a comfortable stay with stunning panoramic views: the islands of Palomino and Icacos (which we can recommend for snorkeling excursions), and on clear days, Culebra Island & even St. Thomas. The tropical-themed apartment has two bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen), each with en-suite full bathroom and full closet; two futons provide additional sleeping accommodations. The full sized kitchen boasts quartz countertops, a refrigerator, microwave, and Wolf gas range. The living room and open kitchen with bar seating provide a great space for sharing, and the small office with laptop desk means you can keep up with work (though we really hope you don't!). Wifi is great in the apt. and you can also log in from the outside seating area and work with a view! Obviously tech things can go on strike, but we do our best. The stand alone apartment is on the second floor of the garage, and is very private. We live next door and can help out with whatever you need. Our property has plenty of space to walk if you enjoy gardening and exploring. We have bananas, plantains, avocados, mangos, passion fruit, guava, breadfruit, coconuts, star fruit, and spices growing on our property! Depending on what's in season, you can pick some yourself! We have a dumb TV & DVD player with a selection of movies, though there is no cable. This is an excellent home base if you want to get away from San Juan, but have convenient access to beaches (including Luquillo), rivers, El Yunque rainforest, snorkeling & scuba excursions, boat rentals and charters out of Fajardo & the El Conquistador Hotel. Appropriate for romantic island couple getaways, solo adventurers, families with kids that need a little bit extra room, or business travelers that are looking for something unique. You will need a car to get around, and we are 5 minutes from main highway #53 and 10 minutes to the nearest beach; 20 minutes from Luquillo Beach and 35 minutes to El Yunque rainforest. Guests will be instructed on how to access through the property gate, and parking is provided next to the apartment. Once inside, guests are free to walk the gardens within the property during the day. We live next door, so we will say hello when you arrive, hand you the keys and provide a tour of the apt. Other than that it is up to you! This mountaintop residential community overlooks the east end of the island (Humacao, Fajardo, Ceiba, Palomino, Icacos, & Culebra). Winding country roads connect houses on roomy lots, often nestled within lush green surroundings. Spectacular views of the countryside and the ocean. Public transportation in Puerto Rico is mostly constrained to the "Metro" area and is inefficient - you will need a car to get around. Be sure to reserve your rental with plenty of time in advance, or you might not find one. If that were the case, we can connect you to a local private taxi driver. We are 45 min from SJU airport, 10-15 minutes away from supermarkets and restaurants, by car. There is no air conditioning in the apartment, as there is usually a nice breeze and the apartment design facilitates cross-ventilation. Being 1,000 feet above sea level, daytime temperatures typically range from mid 70's to mid 80's. In the winter, we can hit low 70's at night. For the summer, there are ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms. There is a lot of humidity - it's the tropics!!
