Imagine waking up and seeing the vast Caribbean Sea, palm trees, secluded beach and listening to the tweeting of colorful, tropical birds. The perfect place to relax, restore & enjoy! Spectacular sunrises over the sea & sunsets over the jungle! Please Note: April/May thru August/September along the Caribbean coast (Cancun to Belize), from the US all the way to Argentina - with the change in ocean currents & south winds - brings (Sargassum) Sargasso floating in. It is a natural phenomenon (since 2011) present in several parts of the world. Year to year we are never sure how much will wash up/in. Some years ALOT, others not so much & what floats in must be raked by hand by additional condo staff to avoid beach erosion and any turtle nests, we are a protective bay (turtle nesting season May - November), no heavy machinery/vehicles allowed - hence clean up is a slow process & the beaches will not be pristine as in the pictures in the listing. The good news you may get lucky and see some mama turtles arriving to nest, or nests hatching - that is amazing. And of course there are many other Sargasso free activities, adventures, culture, food & yes still amazing snorkeling – but for some the arrival of Sargasso is a deal breaker and that is OKAY! I can provide a beautiful accommodation, but have no control of the Caribbean Sea. The Reef C our "Casa Contenta" is a bright, spacious beachfront condo, located in the middle of Akumal's Half Moon Bay. This condo features unobstructed views of the Caribbean. Half Moon Bay is a sheltered (by the 2nd largest reef in the world!) stretch of coastline on the Caribbean Sea. This bay is known for world class snorkeling & small town tranquility. The water here is clear, calm and shallow, which makes it easy to appreciate the coral reef and its amazing array of marine life. And of course swim with the Turtles! Our sliding doors open onto a private terrace & a lovely garden. Follow the landscaped walkway and it will lead you directly to the sun loungers, (extra 2 loungers on Unit C patio) property palapa's, surf & white sand beach. Minutes walk to 2 famous beach restaurants; La Lunita & La Buena Vida. With a short walk to many other restaurants, shopping, grocery, yoga, Akumal Bay & Famous Yal-Ku lagoon. 1+ hour drive from Cancun, 25 minutes from Playa Del Carmen & 20 minutes to funky Tulum. We are budget friendly but still offer the best of service and comfort with many many amenities for you to enjoy. Our condo has an open plan layout, full well equipped kitchen, places to lounge or relax. Sleep 2-4 guests, 1 bedroom with a king size bed & 1 matrimonial/double bed (in the common space) overlooking the walk out terrace. Both have sea views. Included linens, beach towels, beach chairs, beach tent & other handy amenities too numerous to mention, wi-fi, bottled water, small flat screen smart TV, DVD, games, air conditioner (although not required with those beach breezes!) & Free parking. In addition to following the Airbnb new cleaning protocol (based on CDC guidelines, Ecolab & US Surgeon General) maid service will be set up with each guest when they check in - We have implemented a new extensive strict cleaning/disinfecting/steaming protocol before each guest including the use of an ozonator to clean the air. Additional protocols in place include hand sanitizer & sanitizing wipes in the unit. Guests are still required to travel with face masks. We request & require guests follow local protocols in place and social distancing when out and about. The location of this property (a stand alone condo with only 6 units) allows for privacy, and room to self distance even if other guests are in residence. There is a small grocery store within walking distance or grocery &/or restaurant door to door safe delivery service available should you choose to not leave the property or the privacy of your terrace or beachfront! Now more than ever how lovely to be able to listen to the call of the sea, with a beverage in hand & toes in the sand..... Wishing Blessings to the World Entire Apartment, Private terrace, Condo/building rooftop has bench's for additional views of the sea or sunsets over the jungle. Have condo management on site, office hours 9 am - 6 pm. With evening phone numbers in case of an issue, also Security Guard on site thru the night. I've added an additional Assistant - Ana who is available 24/7 lives locally, in case of emergency.... ...... & I am available via email or telephone with very prompt response. North Akumal is a tranquil, safe, beach community, popular with both expats, as well as vacationers looking for a very unique Riviera Maya vacation. So much to do here from swimming with the turtles in our Bay, or Akumal Bay, or world famous Yal-ku lagoon. Make arrangements to Scuba dive the reef. Steps to awesome shopping, restaurants, ATVing, Monkey Sanctuary, Art walking tour. Short drives to ruins, cenotes, cave diving, zip-lining & Eco Parks. Our Condo is located in the middle of Half Moon Bay. And only a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive to the small Eco-village of Akumal where a wide range of great restaurants, yoga, dive shops, spa, artisan shops, small grocery stores..and other amenities can be found. Everythings within walking distance in North Akumal. Golf cart & bicycle rentals also available - make arrangements at the condo office or Mexi-carte shops or for Taxi by the Akumal entry arches (rates posted) or condo office. Moto-taxi's take you to Akumal Bay for $5 USD or 100 pesos. Car or taxi required to visit Playa Del Carmen, Tulum or Eco Parks. Or collectivos for a minimal fare, they stop at 307 Hwy Bridge @ Akumal Playa/Pueblo entrance & will take you where anywhere you want to go along the 307 Hwy. FYI - commencing January 2022 the US requires a negative Covid Antigen test within 1 days (check your region) of boarding return flights. As of March 2022, Canada will accept a negative Antigen test, instead of the expensive PCR test. European guests requirements vary country to country. Current family, friends and guests are enjoying the convenience of having a Doctor come directly to the Condo to perform this test. This takes the worry out of finding where to go, it's easy, private, cost effective & quick. Results from lab arrive promptly. Just ask me for his contact details (There is also a Testing Laboratorie in the Akumal Pueblo). 2021 TELMEX has installed new fiber optic lines. Our property has internet/wifi with booster, 200.79 mbps. Hot water (ie for showers) takes a few minutes to come thru. Just let it run for a bit. The hot water tank/boiler is on the roof with the Tinaco (tee-han-koh) the water storage tank for all the condos. So it takes a little time to make the journey down. And Remember C is for Caliente not Cold : ) The entrance to the sea is a little rocky because of the reef, and we/residents of this bay - have left the bay inlet natural - but Akumal Bay is within walking distance if you require a mainly sandy bottom. I do have a variety of sizes of water shoes (with lysol spray) or bring your own : ). But the Caribbean sea & this bay is shallow, warm... but refreshing too! Lots of sandy areas on the beach between the patio terrace and shoreline.
