1-Bedroom Apartment in Private Chapel Hill Home in quiet neighborhood, 2 miles from UNC, 5 miles from Duke. Apartment has own fenced in yard, own private driveway, own private entrance, own full kitchen, 1.5 baths, Cable TV, Washer/Dryer. Private Deck with garden view. Sleeps 4 with futon sofa/bed in living room. In furnishing this apartment, we have gone the extra mile to encourage repeat visitors. Come and see! Morning Coffee provided, bagels & cream cheese provided for first night! Apartment is located on a half-acre wooded lot in Chapel Hill's Booker Creek neighborhood, just adjacent Lake Forest. This is a quiet Chapel Hill Residential neighborhood with well-established properties and homes. A city walking trail just up the street creates a scenic 10-minute walk to Eastgate and Plaza Shopping Centers, with Starbucks, Brueggers Bagels, Whole Foods, Rite Aide, and numerous other shops and restaurants. It is 2 minutes by car from East Franklin Street (where it becomes the Durham/Chapel Hill Boulevard) which puts it within 5 minutes drive of UNC, and a 15 minute drive from Downtown Durham and Duke University. It is likewise a 5-minute drive to I-40 and therefore a 20 minute drive to RDU Airport. Two different bus lines pass within a block of our address, but buses do not pass directly by. Unique feature is that this Single Family Home (owner occupied) with "accessory apartment" (the Airbnb rental) has two completely separate driveways, and since it's on a corner lot, each drive way exits onto separate streets. The home's clever design means that no windows or approach of the main house are in a line-of-sight with the windows or approach of the accessory apartment, so the feel is that of two completely separate homes. As owners, we have done a lot of work to make the entire property a beautiful one, and we are jealous that the property's most significant feature, a 150 year old Oak Tree, stands in the yard of the accessory apartment. Guests have access to a fully furnished one-bedroom apartment with private entrance, driveway and deck. First floor consists of kitchen with dining area, living room with sleeper sofa, half bath, laundry room, and coat closet. Second floor consists of bedroom (queen-sized bed) and full bath. Private deck has a lovely view of our garden, and no part of this deck can be seen from the main house. We ask that guests contact us for some guidance before using the grill. We sincerely hope that our guests will be in touch with us if they need anything that we may be able to provide. We are just a text message away in most cases. It is our intention to make your stay as comfortable as possible, meaning we'll stay completely out of your way (you'll likely not even see us), but, on the other hand, we're nearby in case we can be of any service.
