The Barracks at Starr's Point
The Barracks offers a quiet refuge in the heart of the Annapolis Valley. A five minute drive from Wolfville, and a 15 minute drive to the Gaspereau Valley and Canning. This is an ideal location to stay after visiting the best of local wineries, art galleries, restaurants, hikes and breweries the Valley has to offer. The Barracks is the perfect place to saunter into after a full day of exploring the Annapolis valley or a quiet countryside property to kick back and relax in. Surrounded by pastures and old growth trees, the backyard faces south allowing the evening sun to filter through the trees while over looking a field where horses graze and who will often come up to the back fence to say 'hi'. A historic property built in 1778 named Fort Hughes, it was originally built to defend against an anticipated American invasion. Fully renovated twice in the last several years, it retains its originality and character, while offering guest modern amenities. You'll be given a key code to enter the house and a key for your private room so no need need to interact with us, however we are close by if there are any issues. Port Williams is a small village located just across the Cornwallis river from Wolfville. Generally a small farming community, in recent years has grown to a destination to discover the local restaurants, wineries, distillery and lovely country side vistas overlooking the Bay of Fundy. Local cabs are the main form of transportation when not driving yourself.
