A cozy, riverfront home awaits you

Your private bedroom has a queen-sized bed with goose feather duvet, Chromecast TV, ceiling fan, and space for all your belongings. You also have your own private bathroom, guest wifi network, smart speaker, and use of laundry, kitchen, TV room, hot tub, and a reserved parking spot in the garage. This non-smoking, pet-free, child-free, air-conditioned, solar-enhanced home is located only a few steps from the scenic walking/biking paths along the Mighty Peace River. Relax and enjoy! The one word which visitors use more often than any other when describing my house is "cozy." I love it here and hope you will think of the space as your temporary home away from home. Feel free to use the kitchen at your leisure. Breakfast ingredients are provided. A shelf in the fridge is reserved for your food. Be sure to pack your swimsuit to take advantage of the outdoor hot-tub. I work in a school and teach piano lessons when I get back home, so my free time is very limited. I will try to make your stay here as comfortable as possible, but please don't expect a lot of interaction. The best part of the neighborhood is its proximity to the walking trail along the river. The commercial centre of town is approximately 2 km from my front door. Everything you need in Peace River - from grocery stores to recreation facilities - is only minutes away. Unfortunately, Peace River does not have a public transit system. The only way to get around is by foot, bike, car or taxi. I will gladly provide directions and, if time permits, might be able to show you some of my favourite viewpoints in town. COVID-19 UPDATE As of Novemb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , all hosts are required by Airbnb to sign a form agreeing to enhanced protocols. These include: 1. All hard surfaces (walls, floors, furniture, appliances, shelves, ornaments) must be washed with soap and water between guests. My response instead is to clean and sanitize frequently touched surfaces. Please let me know if you want me to remove the decorative pillows, books, plants, pictures and other things that make the guest space cozy. I want this to feel like a home and not a sterile institution. 2. Carpets must be vacuumed the vacuum cleaner cleaned and the bag emptied between guests. I always vacuum between guests. I will not be cleaning my vacuum as prescribed. 3. Towels and linens must be washed at the highest heat possible. In order to conserve energy and avoid having to charge a cleaning fee, I will continue to launder as usual and leave the freshly washed linens in the dresser, rotating among the three sets of sheets. 4. Cutlery and dishes in the shared space must be washed at the highest heat possible. I do not believe in using the dishwasher for only a few items and will continue my post-meal habit of washing in the sink. If you are concerned about using an item which has been hand-washed, please let me know in advance. 5. Hosts are required to maintain a 2-metre distance from guests at all times. I have registered a request with Airbnb to have this phrase worded to "whenever possible" but to no avail. The reality is I live in a house with furniture and standard width hallways. The passageway from the back door through the kitchen to the guest area is not 2-metres wide. I have put interaction with guests on hold during the pandamic and will make an effort to physically distance, but if one of us is in the kitchen/entrance area when the other walks in door, the best we can do is turn our bodies away from each other. How unfortunate. I am fully vaccinated and have had a strict policy of hand-washing since the pandemic began in March (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Everyone -- including me -- washes their hands immediately upon entering the house. Hand sanitizer is also left in a prominent spot. I have been operating my Airbnb for five years with many positive comments about how clean my house is. I do not want to remove my listing as I feel my existing policies reasonably honour the spirit of the enhanced protocol agreement. If you disagree, you are welcome to book elsewhere.
