Catawba Cottage

This quaint early 1900s newly renovated cottage offers a peaceful mountain escape for leisurely travels or perfect accommodations for business trips. With 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths, plus a loft, this home provides comfortable space for 6 guests. Catawba Valley is a beautiful area, nestled in between mountain ranges while close to the heart of near-by cities. Catawba Cottage is a treasured gem close to many venues in Roanoke and Blacksburg. It features beautiful exposed wooden beams in high ceilings and hand-crafted barn doors. The living room is equipped with a TV with cable and a DVD player, with a selection of movies. The reading nook provides a desk and extra seating for gatherings. WiFi is accessible throughout the cottage.  Each bedroom has a queen size bed. The back bedroom suite has an adjacent full bathroom with a tub. The front full bathroom has a step-in shower with beautiful tile and stone work. Outside of the front bathroom is the laundry area, equipped with front loader washer and dryer, available for guests’ use. Above the front bedroom is a sleeping loft with a full bed. The loft is perfect, condensed size for comfy and cozy sleeping.* The reading nook also offers a couch that pulls out into a bed for additional sleeping space. Pillows and linens provided for all sleeping areas. The kitchen is characterized by open shelving and a handmade dining nook. The newly installed granite countertops and Shaker cabinets provide space for home cooking for guests who enjoy culinary endeavors. The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware, bakeware, dishes, and other amenities (coffee pot, toaster, waffle maker, George Forman grill, etc.).   The cottage is family-friendly with various areas designed specifically for kids and family gatherings. The bookcases have children’s books, family board games, and an assortment of toys for varying ages. Other provisions for guests include: hair dryer, iron, First Aid kit, soap, shampoo and conditioner. The bedrooms also have an air purifier for quality air and noise reduction. There are plenty of blankets, pillows, and extra supplies for guests to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Outside Space:  The front porch has great seating for guests to enjoy a cup of coffee and good conversation overlooking the beautiful mountain scenery. The side yard, accessible from the laundry area, is fenced in for a private, unwinding retreat.  There is ample space for parking for cars, trucks, trailers, etc. The carport offers covered parking space as well.  Guests have access to the entire 2-acre yard.** Adjacent to the house is a fenced-in area with a wooden fence for privacy from the main road. The yard also includes a fire pit for guests’ use.  *Please take note of the pictures to assess the access to the loft. Guests will need to be in adequate physical condition to climb up and down the ladder and comfortably crawl into the cozy sleeping space. Not recommended for guests who may be pregnant, elderly, have medical physical conditions, or guests who may be too young to independently access the loft. This is a fun, safe area designed for a unique experience for guests, but please use caution and safe measures at all times.   Guests have access to the entire cottage and the 2-acre yard. You will not be sharing with the hosts or any other guests. Make yourself at home! It's all yours! The house is accessible through a lock box on the front door, so guests can have easy, independent check-in. This makes late-night check-ins possible for guests.  We respect guests’ desire for privacy during their stay, but we are easily available upon request before and during your visit. Text, call, or message us through Air BnB with any questions or concerns!  The cottage is located on the main road in Catawba, with a neighbor immediately to the left and a neighbor further down on the right. Being on this road provides a convenient location to I-81. Ask us about our pet policy. We have an additional fee and stringent rules regarding pets. The fee is $35-$55 depending on how many pets and how long the guests are staying. Pets are not allowed on furniture, on linens or blankets, and do not use provided towels for pets. Pets that shed excessively are not allowed to roam inside. They may enjoy the fenced in yard and be crated in the home if guests wish for them to be inside (during inclement weather, at night, when home alone, etc). If excessive pet hair or pet stains are found on furniture or on linens, a higher fee will be applied. Do not use the bathtub to bathe pets. No smoking No parties
