Beautiful House on Bulkley River

A unique and very comfortable home away from home on the beautiful Bulkley River, minutes from downtown Smithers. World renowned steelhead fishing is steps away or enjoy frisbee or other lawn games in the yard or lovely, country walks nearby. Enjoy this beautiful natural setting along the Bulkley River and only minutes (about 8 km) to downtown Smithers. It is modern with lots of natural light, a fully equipped kitchen, wifi, cable tv and a large deck and yard. There are also board games, a small book exchange, piano, stereo with device cable for your own music, bocce and frisbees. Keyless entry makes access a breeze. There are 3 bedrooms, laundry room, bathroom and open plan kitchen, living room and dining area. The table extends to seat 8. Bedroom 1 - queen bed & single pull-out trundle bed Bedroom 2 - queen bed Bedroom 3 - single over double bunk bed Children are welcome, but the home does not have any particular child safety features or baby-proofing. You are responsible for providing what you need. Well behaved & socialized dogs are welcome. Please contact me first as I like to know who to expect and there is a small additional cleaning fee to cover the extra time required to clean. The Bulkley River runs behind the house. It is a world class steelhead river however, if fishing is not your interest, nearby are.. -Endless hiking trails in summer -Bike routes to suit everything from a leisurely back-road peddle to downhill and free-ride trails on Hudson Bay Mountain. Skiing includes numerous back country trails including Hankin Evelyn Recreation Area, North America's sole lift-free, ski-touring only recreation area! -45 km of set cross country ski tracks at the Bulkley Valley Nordic Centre, including lit track for night skiing and 2 dog trails. -And of course, downhill resort skiing on Hudson Bay Mountain Smithers is truly a recreational playground paradise. Guests have the whole house, deck and yard. While you have your privacy, my apartment and pottery studio are attached to one side of the house so I am available if you have questions or need anything. Unless I am out of town, I am available if you have questions about the area, local resources, directions or recommendations. This is a quiet, friendly, rural neighbourhood complete with vegetable gardens and backyard chickens. You will usually see children playing outdoors and people enjoying the river and outdoors in general. Besides the river, there are lovely country walks and bike rides. There is on site parking, however no public transit to my house. If you are traveling without a car, there are taxis or rental cars. Towels and bedding are included. This is a picturesque, rural area and while close to town, there are both domestic farm animals, wildlife & a major river in the area. Please do not try to approach wildlife and always be safe. If you are visiting in winter, the climate can be severe in the north so be mindful of conditions which can sometimes be slippery.
