The Hummingbird house was built on Placencia Caye a Caribbean island to enjoy the relaxing ocean breeze and serene views. It’s conveniently located a 3 minute boat ride from the center of Placencia Village. Complimentary WIFI and boat transportations between the house and the village is provided 24/7 for guests. Its elegant and modern design features various Belizean hardwoods and a spacious floor plan. The entrance leads to a bright foyer, bathroom and large covered patio, perfect napping in the shade. A curved staircase takes you to the upstairs living area where you are met with high ceilings expansive ocean views. The ocean facing interior walls are constructed of tall sliding glass panels and can be open to extend the living area outside and allow a cooling breeze. The balcony wraps around the house, providing breathtaking views over the lush coconut trees. The kitchen is fully equipped and the dining room and living room are furnished with local, artisan-built wood doors, windows, cabinetry and furniture. South facing you'll find two bedrooms, one if which has french doors that open to the balcony. North facing is the master suite, which has an upscale bathroom and outdoor shower. This bedroom also has balcony access. The private dock overlooks the ocean and harbor. Our onsite caretaker will be happy to ferry you to and from Placencia Village. He can also direct you to a variety of restaurants, bars, boutiques and outdoor activities to enjoy. We do have some construction happening at a house a few doors down at the neighbor’s, so there may be some construction noise for the next 6 months 8 am to 5 pm. Arrange pick up at airport or book with local airlines to Placencia (Maya Island Air or Tropic Island Air). Frequently Asked Questions on COVID-19 Please note that these are subject to change. CAN TOURISTS AND FOREIGN NATIONALS TRAVEL TO BELIZE? Tourists and foreign nationals will be able to travel to Belize starting October 1, 2020. This will be only via Belize’s International Airport (BZE) by commercial flights or private flight charters. To travel to Belize at this time, you must stay in Gold Standard accommodations. ARE COVID-19 TESTS REQUIRED TO ENTER BELIZE? Yes. In order to travel to Belize, every visitor must provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test result within a 4-day window or a negative Rapid Antigen test within a 48-hour window of your flight to be granted entry into the country. If you don’t have one on arrival, you can take one at the airport. WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T HAVE A NEGATIVE TEST UPON ARRIVAL? If an arriving passenger, whether citizen, resident or foreign national does not provide proof of a negative test result prior to arrival, they will be required to take a COVID-19 PCR test given by Belize’s Ministry of Health at the BZE airport. The test results will be given to your hotel when available. If this test proves a positive result for COVID-19, you will be required to remain in quarantine at your hotel. The quarantine period will be at the cost of the traveller and for a period of time determined by Belize’s Ministry of Health. DO I NEED TO WEAR A FACE MASK IN BELIZE? Face masks are required in all public places and should be worn during the entire flight landing, deplaning, throughout the arrival process and in the airport. Throughout Belize, masks are required in public and while interacting with other outside of your party. IS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OPEN IN BELIZE? Yes. Public transportation in Belize is operating via buses, water taxis and domestic airlines. Social distancing is required to queue, and a face mask is required for the entirety of your journey. ARE FOOD SERVICE ESTABLISHMENTS OPEN IN BELIZE? Yes. Restaurants, Bars and Cafes in Belize are open but are required to practice social distancing among tables and a limited capacity. ARE BUSINESSES AND TOURISM ATTRACTIONS OPEN IN BELIZE? Yes. Social distancing is required and you are required to wear a mask in any public space. There are new capacity restrictions that have been identified for all tourism sites to ensure social distancing can be maintained and smaller groups will provide a more intimate tour experience.
