If ice-fishing is your thing - this is the right place to be - World class ice fishing is just two minutes away with direct access from the cottage by sled! If you wander around you'll find trails to explore through the north end of the neighbourhood - maps are in the cottage! Incredible cross-country skiing trails are a five minute drive in Grand Beach provincial park, or ski there from the cottage. The Trans-Canada trail runs right through the area and a 30-minute walk along the trail will take you through the Big Marsh ("Grand Marais") and into the little town of Grand Marais for a warm bowl of soup at the hotel restaurant. The town has a grocery store, a liquor store, gas station, hotel/bar, Potenza's Pizza with live music in summer, and ice cream stand! World class Grand Beach is just on the other side of Grand Marais! Snowmobiles can access the lake from the cottage without trailering. There is a long driveway for truck and trailer parking. You can bring your own firewood or purchase on site wood for $5/day cash or reasonable contribution. Garbage and recycling must be removed from the site. Pellet BBQ is available for use - if you plan to BBQ more than once or twice please bring some pellets.
