Your Gorge-ous Mountain Escape
Yes- you finally have it all to yourself!! Far enough away yet close to everything! After breakfast hike to one of our many Sandstone Arches, zip line, or kayak through the Red River Gorge. Come back for a shower and nap then go for a great dinner and shopping in Lexington. When the stars come out just chill in the wonderful relaxing oversized hot tub. This is a Gorgeous escape for you to disconnect or reconnect. You have the cabin and grounds all to yourself. Occasional sharing of the drive. We have built a Writer's Cottage in the far bay of the garage on the back side of the property. We understand and appreciate privacy also so other than occasional sharing of the driveway, You Will Not See Anyone because the writer in me loves the seclusion too. Please only use phone to call or text if you need anything. This is your private getaway! Oversized drive for vehicles with kayaks on top, or even trailer with race car. From Main Street in Clay City, you turn onto 2026 and go across the Red River up the mountain. You turn onto Beechfork Road and follow it back until the road turns to gravel where our 8 acres of woods starts. We are in a beautiful cove of the 61 acre reservoir. Shallow enough to launch your kayak but need to stretch your line for better fishing. No mailbox. 1761 is on the telephone pole at the concrete drive and your neighbor's cabin is "Hawk's Nest" . You may hear families on the other side of the lake but the trees give you the complete privacy you deserve. A 4x4 is needed to get up the mountain in winter. At the Gorge there is designated parking and shuttles are available if you want to be dropped off or picked up at a specific trail head. Even electric vehicle charging at Cliffview.
