Cottage on the Canal - Pool, Views, Kitchen, Queen
We are GOLD STANDEARD CERTIFIED for your Co-Vid protection. This lovely one bedroom with Queen size bed, features a kitchen with bar, and living room/dining room overlooking the pool. Most furniture is made of mahogany from the forests of Belize. There is a private driveway with gate. A screened outdoor sitting room, shared laundry, AC and a fishing pole and tackle completes your home. Why rent a hotel room when you can have a much larger space with all the amenities of home? The Cottage was built for the owner, so is very comfortable with great attention to detail throughout. Custom mahogany cabinetry spells quality and comfort. A 32 inch TV, along with Apple TV as well as WIFI throughout keeps you in the know. The large bathroom has two Mexican bowl sinks, with ample cabinetry for storage. The pool just outside the door awaits you. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, 4 burner ceramic top, oven, blender and ample dishes. The washer and dryer is a real plus, you also have your own clothes line, great for hanging out bathing suits and beach towels. The yard has banana and plantain trees, as well as lots of coconuts (look up, don't walk under coconut trees). If the trees are in season, you can ask our staff to prepare a coconut for you. There is an abundance of tropical plants and some days you will see Grandpa, a large Iguana who lives in a tree on the property. Enjoy the view from the Palapa on the front lawn. The pool and laundry room is shared between the two units. Just communicate with each other for ideal times for laundry. I am a Canadian from Victoria, British Columbia. I live in Belize during the winter months, so I am available when on site. During the summer months I have a friendly caretaker who can assist you. Our staff are Spanish speaking, so if going to Mexico is of interest to you, they can be hired to accompany you. They make the whole process so much easier, especially going through the border. They also won't let you be taken advantage of. The neighborhood is quite unique with ex-pats from the United States, Canada and Great Britain. They come from every walk of life. There are three restaurants in the immediate area and two Inns. Rice and Beans is the local dish and it is very reasonable. Corozal Blue is close by and a great place for pizza. The center of Corozal isn't very far away, about a 20 minute walk to downtown. There are lots of restaurants on the way to downtown and in the town itself. There is an Atlantic Bank, a Bank of Nova Scotia, Belize Bank and St Francis Xavier Credit Union. All of them have ATM machines and you can use your credit card in most places. Downtown Corozal hums at night with lots of activity, so you might want to enjoy the bars where the music is lively. Taxis are very reasonable costing about 10.00 Belize (5.00 US) to anywhere in downtown Corozal and the same on the return trip. Stay in groups or in couples at night, don't venture out alone and you will be safe. We are an adult oriented property. There are resident crocodiles in the canal so swimming in the pool is in order. However, you can fish in the canal. There are iguana that wonder through the property, so please don't make pets out of them. If the door is left open, they could easily pay you a visit.
