Situated in a private location with phenomenal view. No minimum stay. 24 hr cancellation policy. Kids stay free. 2 double beds in loft; 1 double & 1 queen in bedroom. Newly fully renovated; ski in- ski out. 5 min walk up toboggan hill from parking. 2021 upgrades: hydro, Wifi and smart TV. The toilet is 2 outhouses; no shower. Guests must bring their own drinking water, sheets and pillow cases leaving as it was found. While it can sleep 8; the living space is comfortable for 6. The cabin is situated in a completely private spot at the edge of a hill overlooking mountains and valleys. After parking in the unloading zone, haul your gear up the 5 minute slog up the toboggan hill- a gear sled is provided at the cabin. Once everything is unloaded kindly move your vehicle to the overnight parking area. We bought this cabin in 2019 and fully renovated it inside and out. Guests walk into a covered walled in porch which they enter by key- pad. The main room features a cozy Blaze King wood stove which keeps the place toasty on a pebble hearth. There is also electric heat. We have it warmed for you on arrival using a remote thermostat. The kitchen table seats 7; there is a new couch and 2 fireside chairs in the living space. Our kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove and oven, fridge, and microwave. There are pots, cast iron pans, baking dishes, toaster and air popper provided. Dishes are custom made Art and Soul pottery- please use with care. Snow is melted in large pots on the wood stove for washing dishes. Locally roasted coffee, organic teas and hot chocolate and cooking oils are provided. Paper products including napkins, paper towel, and TP are always well- stocked. The loft is accessed via ladder and features the best views in the cabin. Here you find 2 new double mattresses and pillows covered by protectors as well as down duvets. The bedroom features a queen and double bed, again new mattresses and pillows covered by protectors with down duvets. All of the mattresses have electric mattress warmers which are a delight. Plenty of hooks are provided for clothing in both the loft and bedroom. Fire wood is contained in two wood storage areas in the cabin and a larger supply is found below the cabin. Cleaning supplies including mop, vacuum and swiffer are provided. On the outside porch is a sink for dumping wash water and a gas BBQ. Rates are $220 for weekends and holidays; $200 for weekdays and $150 for off season/ days the ski hill is closed (Mondays and Tuesdays 2022). There is no charge for kids, just enter the number of adults when submitting a booking request. We will not reimburse if the ski hill is closed for any last- minute reason. There is good wifi in the cabin and limited cell service. There is no running water; bathrooms are 2 outhouses. Again, guests bring their own drinking water and sheets and do a full clean; leaving the cabin as it was found and saving themselves a cleaning fee. Park at the farthest parking lot (it is usually plowed, though occasionally we have had to park at the second parking lot and hike in). After bringing in your gear, move your vehicle to the overnight parking area. While you may bring your snowmobile, we would prefer that you don't as they are very noisy & disturbing to the neighbors. HBM does not allow snowmobile use during operational hours. Personally, we don't use one. We can be readily reached using airbnb messaging during your stay. There is minimal cellular service at the cabin and in some areas on the ski hill. Our cabin is quite secluded - you can't see any other cabins from inside. You can put on your skis and ski right to the Prairie T-bar though you need to hike up a bit to come back up. The Sidewinder run takes you over to the Lodge with Wiskey Jack pub and the ski rental area. In summer, start alpine hikes right from the cabin, and pick huckleberries as far as the eye can see. Unload at the farthest parking lot, then move your vehicle to the overnight parking area. Occasionally, the last bit of road is not plowed and we have had to hike in (only a few more minutes). While you can bring a snowmobile, we prefer not as they are very noisy and disruptive to the neighbors (whom we like). HBM has strict rules around snowmobile use such as not running them during operational hours and keeping them off of all ski areas. Our neighbors are quite conscientious around the snow fall off of their roof and the dangers it poses. For this reason, we've put in a trail to keep guests away from this risk as of fall 2021. There is a sign indicating where to go.
