Frankfort Farmhouse, 9 lovely acres

Comfortable, remodeled 1870's 'Farmhouse In The Woods' near Lake Michigan & Crystal Lake. 3 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, living & dining rooms, as well as furnished front & back covered porches & deck. Sleeps 8. Lovely woods, meadow, & yard. We love eating on the back porch or deck when the weather is nice, but also have the dining room and kitchen bar-top for cooler days or rain. We are only a few minutes from town, but the topography & woods gives of the feeling of deep-country solitude. - The Farmhouse is quite close to Frankfort, but on a quiet road and surrounded by woods & meadows. On the property there is a feeling of peace & solitude. Deer, wild turkey, chipmunks, the occasional hedgehog, and many species of birds are frequent visitors. We love eating on the back porch or deck when the weather is nice, but also have the dining room and kitchen bar-top for cooler days or rain. -Please note, the stairs to the upper bedrooms are steep & somewhat narrow. The upper bedrooms are not recommended for those with mobility impairments. There is a baby stair-gate to help protect young ones. -The Farmhouse is available for rent May through January. During the high season (late June to late August) we usually accept bookings for 5 days or more. A three day minimum is required during the remainder of the year. We do occasionally offer special price reductions. -For added safety, in addition to sanitation procedures, we leaving two vacant days between guests. Entire house, decks, lawn and forest, except for outbuildings and their immediate surrounding area. We take walks in the woods, but there are no improved paths. When you reach the end of our property it should be obvious that you are approaching a neighbor's property or the tree types will change noticeably. A local cleaner looks after the property and is available for in-person help if need. We are usually available by phone days & evenings for any questions or to respond to any difficulties. We are located in a small a valley only minutes away from downtown Frankfort, Lake Michigan and the Congregational Summer Assembly. However the property is very quiet and secluded with a fully rural feel. We cannot see the neighbors and traffic on our street is very light. Biking or walking into town or to Lake Michigan on a country road is easy, about 1.5 miles. The through route of M22 is at the the end of the street, but noise is unnoticeable. The "Benzie Bus" provides some public transportation. Please check with them for details. There is plenty of parking on the premises. - Our area suffers occasional power outages. We have solar power with battery backup for the farmhouse. Brief power outages should not be noticeable. We will contact you if there are longer outages. - We are sorry, but due to allergies in the family, no pets are allowed. - There is no smoking allowed anywhere on the property. - Cleaning fee $150 per stay. - State taxes are collected by AirBnB.
