Mountain Retreat

The Retreat at Hacienda La Luisa is a 1950s restored coffee mill, located at a protected forest property in the western-central mountains of Las Marias, Puerto Rico. This secluded restored coffee farm is surrounded with beautiful gardens, tropical fruits and an outstanding panoramic view that can be enjoyed as you relax in our small outdoor pool. This is a small cottage home in the mountains. The living area, formerly the hacienda's coffee production site, is completely private and secure. Convenient car access with full facilities for the most demanding glamper. Our secluded furnished full house is enclosed on a 53 acre private forest property with a spectacular view. Two full bathrooms with hot water showers, two full kitchens. One located in our outdoor covered 400 square feet terrace with plenty of seating areas. There is an outdoor shower also available along with a small outdoor pool, multiple gardens, fruit trees, nice weather and the most beautiful mountain view. The perfect place for bird watching, hiking, yoga, reading...You will never want to leave the premises! When booking with us, you are expected to connect with your surroundings and bask in the presence of mother nature. It is truly a relaxing beautiful place to lose yourself. The indoor living room and kitchen contains board games and cards for you to enjoy your time with each other. Although, we recommend for you to watch the star filled nights (we bet you see at least 12 shooting stars when stargazing). Days are meant for you to enjoy the gardens and pick fruits for a fresh breakfast. While we do have a small television, we recommend against it as it will limit the true experience that we expect for you to have when booking your stay at Hacienda La Luisa. When booking with us the entire property will be yours to venture through. There are 53 acres of pineapples, oranges, tangerines, guava, bananas, papaya, ext. There are two bathrooms. One is located in the back room space by the pool while the other is down by where the original house used to be before hurricane George. In addition to the relaxing environment, you will also be able to explore this natural protected area , hike our challenging creek , walk our gardens, bird watch and enjoy the variety of tropical fruits from the plantations nearby restaurants like "El balcón del tío món" and "La Casona de Artemio" are minutes away from the property. There are multiple nearby places to visit. Rincón and Aguadilla's beaches to the west, Boquerón village (a must to visit), La Parguera with its Fluorescent bay, and Combate to the south to mention a few. To the north, Cueva Ventana, Tanamá river with its zipline and river adventures, and Cueva del Indio to mention a few places of interest. I usually receive guests and show them the facilities, set them up and stay on call if any assistance is needed. Close by there is a "gallera"(cockpit), streams, waterfalls, the closest one being "El Salto Curet". Nearby you can visit El Monte del Estado Natural reserve where the puertorrican parrot (Amazona vittata), an endangered species, is being released for reproduction. The National fish hatcheries is a 15 minutes away drive. Boqueron beach village, Rincon beaches, Cueva Ventana, Batey Zip lining are only a few of many nearby interesting places to visit NO public transportation is available. A rented car is a must to move around. Closeby there is a bakery with breakfast, and lunch available and groceries as well. We will love you to try our crop fruits, vegetables and cook them straight from the earth. Please take care of this property as your own.
