Everyone is very friendly, although many of the houses are vacation homes, so neighbors are not often in residence. The area has a history, it is the site of an old train track that used to circle the island and the houses are built directly on the old track. It is very safe to walk, even late at night. Weekends can be lively, as there are clubs and restaurants on the hill above the house, including a place to salsa dance and rub shoulders with the locals.
