Please note that we generally require a 2-night minimum stay but during the high season months of June, July, and August we encourage a 3-night minimum stay. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic we are restricting our accommodation to a minimum of 3 nights and have a special offer for stays of one week. Make the most of Wells Gray Park! We offer a cozy apartment on the lower level of our home, right on the road into Wells Gray Park, and a few minutes from the village of Clearwater. We offer a private apartment with 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, full kitchen, sitting room, private entrance and parking. Sleeping up to 5 people comfortably, one bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the other either two twin beds or a king-size: there is also a further single bed in the sitting room. We are very family friendly! We encourage you to make the most of the huge number of opportunities for activities in the area and we are more than happy to help organize any of these - please just let us know. The apartment has its own entrance and parking area: outside, you are welcome to use the garden, firepit / barbecue and gazebo. As much help as you would like to make your stay memorable is always available, such as suggesting and organizing activities, or providing an insider's guide to the area. Temporarily, we are implementing social distancing with our guests and will not be offering daily housekeeping services. We are just a short drive from attractions and activities such as the world-famous waterfalls, river rafting, mountain and forest hiking, fishing, paddling, and horseback riding. The small town of Clearwater has a range of businesses, including a large grocery store, banks, pharmacy, liquor stores, a variety of restaurants and an awesome new pub / eatery / smokehouse, just down the hill! Trees and rocks and trees and creeks and trees and bears and trees. Oh, and a little bit of rather sad-looking grass. No neighbours in sight. There's not much in the way of public transportation: there is a limited bus service which runs past the house and into the town and surrounding area (but not into the park), and a local taxi service. The Greyhound Bus travels this way between Edmonton and Kamloops, and Via Rail does stop at the nearby station (if requested). Some things you might NOT like (!?!) - Up here in the woods and hills, we have next to no cell / mobile phone service: you might be able to hang out of a tree by one arm to get a single bar, but that's about it. - Please note that although the apartment is separate from the rest of the house, it is still part of our home: there are various teenage children (usually reasonably well-behaved, but not always), two cats and a dog (likewise). The animals will come into the apartment if you invite them. The children almost certainly won't! - We call it a 'garden flat': others might call it a 'basement'. Yes, it's the lowest floor of the house, but every room (except the bathroom) has a full-size window - not a tiny slit at the top of the wall. Best of all, when it's in the high 30s outside, and we are baking upstairs, inside the apartment it is always lovely and cool!
