Factory 34 on the East Coast Trail
Factory 34 is a sweet and clean hideaway, perfect for anyone looking to explore the beautiful Avalon coastline or sip coffee while watching the waves. Tucked in peaceful Pouch Cove and steps from the East Coast Trail. The Factory was built in the mid 1940's, it was one of two buildings in Pouch Cove constructed at that time with a cement foundation. Initially, the building was used as a Cod liver oil factory (hence the title), the original vat can be viewed at the local museum. The building was completely overhauled and renovated in 2017 to create a cottage, with new siding windows and roof. It sits alone on the edge of the coast with the East Coast trail running through the backyard. The cottage will be completely at your disposal during your stay. It is an open concept with a large living area/kitchen, small bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom with both a shower and bathtub. There is also a deck facing the ocean with a picnic table and adirondack chairs. Pouch Cove is a quiet and peaceful community, there is a convenience and liquor store both within walking distance from the cottage. The community also boasts beautiful walking trails, a light house and a take-out. There is no close public transportation. Unfortunately, there is no washer or dryer on the premises. The kitchen is equipped with essentials (pots, pans, cutlery, dinnerware) as well as a small stove and fridge.
