Top Amazing AirBnbs For a Perfect Fall Getaway! The Most Tranquil AirBnBs HOT TUB AVAILABLE YEAR-ROUND. The hot tub is a shared space (with my family) and is located off my deck. (We always defer to guest use so if we see you coming we will wave and quickly be on our way :) Custom oil paintings and quilts. Adult and family games are available in the cabin and a bookshelf plump with books for readers of all ages and interests. Wood-burning stove for heat as needed. (Split wood, paper, and lighter provided.) NEW! 3 piece BATHHOUSE! (Shower, flushing toilet, and sink) Yay, for Terry! It is finished and it is glorious! (See listing pictures for details). Fresh, pump water just off the deck so you can replenish your water supply as desired. HOW TO MAKE HOT WATER IN THE CABIN: (Answer: The old-fashioned way!) Hot water for cooking and washing can be made by either using: an induction cooktop, a kettle on the wood stove, or the electric kettle. Basins, dish soap, linens, and dish drying rack provided. The cabin has a bar fridge, toaster oven, one-burner induction cooktop, and crockpot. NEW: Private use propane barbeque right off your deck! You will love the accent landscape lighting along the path to the cabin and adjacent "Tinkletorium". I call them Fairy Lights-so keep an eye out. In winter, bring snowshoes, (I have one pair of ladies and one man's size pair for you to your use), or your cross-country skis for added outdoor fun. Or simply enjoy a moonlight walk on, or along the river. Gather around the campfire (roasting sticks and wood provided) or relax in the hot tub under the stars. On a good night, catch the Aurora Borealis in the northern sky. Fishing, kayaking in summer. A unique holiday experience over and above "Glamping." You won't want to leave! JUST TO CLARIFY: This is a non-smoking, no-drugs, no-pet cabin. Pursuant to Airbnbs global BAN on ALL PARTIES and events at Airbnb listings, there are NO PARTIES allowed at the Woodsy Cabin. Designated smoking area provided outside. In the interest of keeping the cabin allergen-free- there are no exceptions to the no-pet rule. QUICK FACTS: Privacy/room darkening drapery in the loft. Ladder up to loft has a weight rating of 260 lbs at one time. The window seat (24"x69") can sleep one CHILD as well. (Making the capacity 7) We are child-friendly but not childproof :) Well-behaved, supervised, children welcomed. Bring a swimsuit for hot tubing. French press coffee and maker provided. Regarding Fishing on the river: I'm not a fisherman but my son-in-law tells me these are the fish that are in the river: Walleye, Northern Pike, Burbot, and maybe some Mountain White Fish. Self-check-in is available for returning guests. And yes, we have WIFI! and No, we don't have bears or snakes :) MOST OFT-REPEATED FIRST IMPRESSIONS: These are the most oft-repeated first impressions from our adult guests after only 10 minutes into their arrival: “I can’t believe I found this place.” “Wait until everyone finds out about this…” “Wow! It’s even better than in the pictures!” “Truly, thank you soooo much for letting us come here.” "It feels just like..." (B.C or Oregon, and even Nepal!) And even though only two minutes have passed and we haven’t even gone inside yet… “We are definitely coming back!” And, "Do you do timeshare style commitments or anything? I absolutely love it!" Some tender souls have even teared up… I recall one mom who said to me, "I think of all the places around the world we have vacationed (alluding to expensive destinations, exhausting air transport, and commutes), and both her children exclaimed in the first hour, "This is our favorite holiday ever!" And from the mouths of the children… “Wow, can we just live here?” “Look, Mom! They have a vacuum!” And if you are thinking to come alone for some much-needed self-care? The most oft-asked question is, "Will I be safe?", "What if I need help?" To which my reply is, "You are still on my property and within walking distance to my home. My husband eats bad guys for breakfast and no one gets to the cabin without passing by us first:) We are available for you if you need assistance. And lastly, did you know that the first organ the heart pumps blood to is itself? I say, “Go for it!” Firepit, hot tub (I understand we are one of the few in the area that offers a hot tub), Towels, use of 6 kayaks (on-site, by appointment), Two sets of snowshoes (1 pair men's size, 1 pair womens size) Quality, dried, hand-split Firewood provided for the woodstove and the firepit area. As well, I have roasting sticks for the campfire and yard games to play in season. Private stone patio area with wrought iron table and chairs for 6. Bring own fishing rod, cross country ski's, or snowshoes for miles of fresh air and fun in all seasons along the small river. For those who want to know how many steps from the cabin to the... "Tinkletorium" (outhouse): 24 steps Steps to bathhouse: 80 steps Firepit area: 38 steps Hot tub: 70 steps 7-minute walk to the river. Distances to local attractions: -15 mins to Sylvan lake Beach -24 mins to Gull Lake -22 mins to Colllicut Center -17 mins to Great Chief Park -29 mins to Canyon Ski Hill -about 75-90 mins from Calgary and Edmonton, depending on location. After your one-on-one check-in experience, and after answering any questions you may have- you are on your own. That being said, I just want you to have as much privacy as you wish and the knowledge to manage without me. I have also made a thorough house manual with little tidbits of instructions to help you out as well. But ultimately, I am here for you and can help with whatever you need. Quiet, treed, country road, all on pavement. Cabin situated in a forest with the Blindman River only a 7-minute walk on a goat trail. Lovers swing and hammock at the cabin. Small child swing set in the backyard. Only 10 minutes off the main highway. (Queen Elizabeth Highway 2) Ample parking at the main house. Only ten minutes to Red Deer if you want to enjoy 100km of bike trails, restaurants etc or likewise only 15 minutes to Sylvan Lake beach, restaurants etc. Perfect gathering place for those residing in Edmonton and Calgary. No need to travel for hours to be rejuvenated on this lovely getaway! *Please be sure to have your profile completed. Specifically, that Air BnB has your government ID on file and you have uploaded your profile picture. Once your profile is complete you can "instant book". **I will no longer be accepting booking requests that have only an email and a phone number. *Regarding the Calendar/Availability: The calendar on the site is current. You may trust it implicitly. Double-checking with me is not necessary and as the cabin books quickly, what you see is what you can count on for your inquiry at that moment in time. If you can't book the desired range of dates it's because there is a booking already in there somewhere which is making the whole selection unavailable for you to select. **As it is typical to receive bookings every day at the Woodsy Cabin, and that there are rarely cancelations (thankfully), I just want you to know that if you see the dates you are interested in- you shouldn't delay too much or you run the risk of them getting snagged from under you. *Life jackets for your use come in all sizes from infants to adults. *A word about slippery roads in winter: As our driveway has a slight incline, if guests have only 2 wheel or front-wheel-drive vehicle WITHOUT winter tires- my good husband suggests you park at the top of the driveway and take the short walk to check-in. This only applies when icy winter-driving conditions exist and not for all winter days. Check Out Protocol: As I offer the earliest check in possible with the latest checkout time possible guests are asked to strip the bed of the SHEETS and PILLOWCASES ONLY and put them in the black garbage bag provided. As well, any soiled towels may be added to the bag. Please do not add the bedspreads or blankets. There is no need to fold the remaining linens. This allows me to deposit the soiled linens directly for washing and begin bleaching surfaces as soon as I enter the cabin following your stay. Thank you for your help with this :) As well, please bring garbage and set it on top the rain barrel at the corner of the garage. (So Ruby doesn't get into it;) Thank you for your extra help in this matter.
