Welcome to East Coast Canada and the St. Croix Tidal River front accommodations! - A private riverfront stay, Where you can stay and relax and soak up river views or go exploring the surrounding areas, beautiful coastal drives, shops, whale watching, golfing, and so much more. The cottage style apartment is attached to our home in the Town of St. Stephen. Comfortable, clean with a seperate entrance. Sitting high on the bank overlooking the St. Croix River, guests can enjoy an apartment stay with your own private entrance, with its amazing view overlooking the river from above. Clean and cozy cottage style 1 bedroom unit with a queen size bed and an available double high comfy air bed. This unit includes a queen bed with dresser, closet amour, flat screen tv with many cable channels, sofa, chairs, table, and a full well-equipped kitchen, including a large lobster pot for the seafood lovers as well as coffee maker, microwave, and essentials to make your own meals! Includes a washer and dryer for your use. Ethernet connection and Wifi available on property. The location is on the beautiful Saint Croix tidal River, in town, but where you can wake up to the amazing views of river. The lower deck offers a closer view of the River and it is tidal. You can enjoy the ever changing views from low, slack, and high tides. This is a salt and fresh water river and has both kinds of fish and ocean life in it. So, if fishing is your thing, you may want to give it a try! You may even spot one of the many bald eagles that like to perch in a tree by the river and have been spotted on the tree limb while feasting on fish and eel. You could see several other kinds of birds as well such as humming birds or small and large woodpecker, etc. On a quiet morning while enjoying the river view you may see a deer crossing with or without its young and on occasion a seal sunning on a rock while taking a break from the Bay of Fundy, Atlantic Ocean. The backdrop across the river is the state of Maine, USA! Guests will have access to common areas outside and join us to enjoy our newly constructed lower riverfront deck, (under construction in some photo’s), There are several lounging chairs, for relaxing in or layout for sun tanning bar chairs and bench. We welcome socializing with our guests to make your experience unique and personal an we will usually be onsite throughout your stay should you require any assistance. Perhaps you would like to join us for morning coffee/tea on our upper deck or a campfire by the river. We can keep you informed of any events happening around the area, and give you suggestions of things to do special to our area! We have an annual International Festival, and a Chocolate Festival you may want to experience. St. Stephen is our neighborhood. We are close the center of town, the wharf, shops, and restaurants. Close distance to area parks, several within walking distance, and downtown St.Stephen,NB which is known as Canada’s Chocolate Town and home to the historic Ganong chocolate factory and museum, high tides, and the gateway to the Canadian Atlantic Provinces. The 3 International Border Crossings are 1, 2 and 5 klm from the house. St. Stephen, NB, Canada borders Calais, Maine, USA. (separated by the St. Croix River) If exploring the area, you could take a 15 to 20 minute beautiful coastal drive over to St. Andrew's-by-the-sea and we are approximately 60 min from Saint John, 80 min from Fredericton, (airports in both cities) Nearby are galleries, shopping, restaurants, swimming, hiking, golfing, and all that Charlotte County has to offer., and is the perfect base to return home to after a busy day exploring. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families. The home sits high up on the bank which offers great river views. To access the lower deck and river it is necessary to climb several staircases, and natural pathways. There is very little flat yard area on our property, the home sits among the tall trees growing up the steep bank. May not be suitable for those who have young children requiring areas of outside play, however, there are an abundant number of river view parks within walking distance, and/or a very short drive. Also, and outdoor pool is within walking distance!
