Clean, Quiet Room w/Breakfast!
Perfect space for solo travelers: quiet room in an updated, spacious, ground-level apartment; small, 13 unit complex in an upscale, residential neighborhood, tree-lined street w/ beautifully landscaped grounds. Great walkability, centrally located to Downtown LA (20 min train ride), Old Town Pasadena (15 min walk to Gold Line), Highland Park, & Echo Park. I provide fruit, croissants/bread, tea and coffee each morning. I'm very particular about cleaning - I do it all myself! No cleaning fee! The bedroom is airy, light and spacious! Situated on the south side of the complex, it remains warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The windows allow just enough light without being too overbearing. The afternoon breezes are magnificent! It comes with great closet space and 8 drawers for all your belongings. This is a shared space with me and my small dog. Guests have access to the entire apartment including refrigerator, freezer and community laundry room. Coin-operated washer ($1.25) and dryer ($1.00) is available for use on Wednesday mornings, Thursday mornings and afternoons, and Saturday afternoons. If you have a car, a permit can be purchased for $2 per night. I also have 2 bikes available. 1 beach cruiser and 1 hybrid. Please let me know if you would like to use them so I can have them ready to ride. I enjoy interacting with my guests and am available for helping plan your stay. I also understand the need for privacy so I can be available on an as-needed basis as well. If I am off site, I have a designated neighbor who can assist with anything you may need, so rest assured you'll have an onsite contact. South Pasadena is a small town amid the hustle and bustle of the City of LA. With it's charming craftsman style homes, big yards and family friendly vibe, it's one of the safest neighborhoods in Southern California. Just 3.5 square miles, South Pasadena is home to 3 elementary schools, 1 Middle School, 1 High School and one 1 Catholic K-8th school. Walking to school is a big deal for the neighborhood kids so don't be surprised to see throngs of little ones waddling down the street with their backpacks in tow! We've also seen a growing trend among boutique restaurants and cafe's in the city. South Pasadena is home to the award winning, French restaurant Bistro de la Gare. In addition, we have a wonderful tapas-style restaurant called Aro Latin, an Irish pub with amazing guinness pie, shephers pie and many imports on tap. For the kids, we have Menchies frozen yogurt and Mother Moo's Creamery. On Thursday evenings, the farmers market is in full swing. Anything from honey sticks to nuts, to fresh cut flowers, to farm fresh fruit, veggies and meats. Food trucks turn out in full force at the farmers market so be sure to treat yourself to rotisserie chicken, a handmade pupusa, sausage and hotdogs on the grill, homemade ice cream, etc. The apartment is 2 blocks from the bus stop and 1 mile from the train station. Overnight street parking requires a permit and can be purchased for $2 per day. I have 2 bikes for use as well: 1 beach cruiser and 1 hybrid. Let me know in advance if you'd like to use them so I can have them tuned and ready to ride. It's easy to walk to almost anywhere in South Pasadena. Everything is within a 5 to 20 minute walking radius: Starbucks, grocery store, nail salon, train station, bus stop, church. LA traffic is always a factor so be prepared to be stuck in it at least once during your trip. My apartment is closest to the 110 freeway. The 10, 210 and 710 freeways are approximately 10 minutes away. - I am more than happy to help you plan your itinerary. LA is vast and the list of things to do can be a bit overwhelming. Please let me know if you have any specific interests! I will do my best to help make your stay as fun and memorable as possible! - I work from home so I'm here all day. Although I occasionally have presentations and zoom calls, the apartment is quiet and good for individuals who need a quiet work-space. Other than the usual outside noises (cars, dogs, walkers), it's relatively low-key. - The community here is very close-knit. On any given evening, we gather in the courtyard (either with/without cocktails) to enjoy the beautiful LA weather, have puppy play dates, etc. We always welcome new faces!
