We are offering our modern house, our second home, which we designed and built in 2013. The house is secluded, located on the mountainside, and has spectacular views and scenery on all sides. A private haven for its visitors. If you're not looking to be too active in the city then we are a perfect fit for you. - 30 km from Oaxaca city airport. - 15 km from downtown Oaxaca. The house has a bright, open living area with large windows and a roof terrace overlooking the spectacular mountain scenery. Perfect for couples and families. - The house has a loft with two beds, sleeps 4 (double bed, queen-size bed). - One bathroom with a shower. - Fully equipped open kitchen. - Large roof terrace with a fireplace. - Garden with hammock area in the shade. - Studio (separate unit) with shower and toilet that sleeps 2 additional guests (access to studio comes at an additional price, added automatically by Airbnb after 4 guests). - Wifi. - Outdoor shower. Our home is located 850m from the Centro de Artes San Agustín, a cultural center with a calendar full of exhibitions and concerts. Also within walking distance is a water park with a warm pool and swimming areas. Nine-hole golf course located at 3kms from the property. Great hiking opportunities in the surrounding mountains. All in all a peaceful and secluded place to stay all year round and an ideal workplace for artists and authors. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our house, your home-away-from-home. The house is family-friendly. It is very convenient to have a car, however, we are a 5 minutes uphill walk from the colectivos (communal taxis), which will take you into Oaxaca for 15 pesos. Our experiences with guests that bring pets have not been the best, for the time being, pets are not welcome. PLEASE DON'T SNEAK THEM IN. For guests who want to stay in one of Oaxaca's beautiful beaches at the beginning or at the end of their trip, we can give recommendations. We try to support local Oaxacan artists and can give our guests pointers if they want to buy rugs or handcrafts straight from the people that produce them. Special prices for longer-term rentals are available, Airbnb will automatically show you the reduced price. We have a mandatory weekly cleaning service on stays of more than 3 weeks, which should be paid straight to the cleaning person ($300 pesos - around $15 dollars). That way we guarantee that the house is kept clean throughout your stay which benefits both you as a guest and us as owners. Access to the studio will only be provided if requested and paid for or if the amount of guests is more than 4. The outdoor shower is available for all our guests. Our house manager Sebastian is available 24/7 and will be in charge of check in/out. He is also available for transfers and is a fantastic tour guide if you need one (both at an additional cost). We believe our house is excellent to enjoy an authentic small Mexican village experience, including a daily local morning and evening announcement service (happenings, sales, local news such as weddings), which some find amusing and part of the charm. There is always something to celebrate in the village: random fireworks, banda brass music being heard, church bells calling, donkeys braying are part of everyday life here.
