This apartment has one bedroom with a queen bed (and an air bed if needed), dresser, living room with TV, full kitchen, and a small bathroom with a shower (no tub). We live on the first floor and there are three apartments upstairs, including this one. Two blocks from shops, restaurants, bakeries, art museum, distillery, and brewery. Dogs are allowed, but no cats. We love cats, but have had problems with spraying. This is a dated, but cozy apartment on the second floor of a big old house. Everyone enters the front door into the foyer, but each apartment is private, behind locked doors. #2 has central heat and air and everything you need for a short or long-term stay. Smoking outside only. We are also in a GREAT neighborhood with bars, restaurants, pharmacy, shops, and a grocery store. All are within walking distance. Guests are welcome to use the front porch, backyard, and washer and dryer in the basement. You are also welcome to use our folding chairs, reusable shopping bags, and umbrellas. If you need something, just ask. We are hands-off hosts. We'll give you the front door code and respond to any requests. Otherwise, we let you do your thing. Soma (south Main) is a GREAT neighborhood close to everything! We're just 10 minutes from the airport, hospitals, the Rivermarket district, Simmons Arena, the river trails, great midtown neighborhoods, Robinson Center Music Hall, the convention center, the baseball park, and lots more. Soma's offerings continue to grow. Rocktown Distillery, Esther's (vegan options), Rock & Roll Sushi, Mockingbird Cafe, Community Bakery, Raduno, South on Main, Root Cafe, Loblolly Creamery, Boulevard Bread, Bark Bar, Larry's Pizza (weekdays), Stone's Throw Brewery, and more are all within short walking distance (2-5 blocks). There's a Walgreens and Edwards Food Giant just three blocks away. Other eats and drinks close by include 9th Street Brewery, The Railyard, Lost 40, Samantha's Tap Room, Bruno's Italian, Soul Fish Cafe, Sim's BBQ, Three Fold, Wasabi, 109 & Co., The Lobby Bar, Vino's, Ciao, Forty-Two (in the Clinton Library), Heifer Int'l Cafe (and check out their urban farm!), and more I'm forgetting. MacArthur Military Museum and Park and the Arkansas Arts Center are just a few blocks from the house, and the Arts Center is free. Also, don't forget the Central High School National Park and Museum. Drive straight west on Daisy Bates (14th St.) about a mile and you'll run right into it. Central is a beautiful school, and if you don't know its history and place in civil rights, you must visit and learn. For outdoor fun, Pinnacle Mountain is west of town and provides great hikes. There's the "front side" and "back side" of Pinnacle. The back side is steeper and involves climbing up boulders. We think that side is more fun, but both are great, and a great workout. We actually prefer Pinnacle Mountain Visitor Center, which has the best views of the rivers and Pinnacle. It also has many fewer visitors. We ride our bikes frequently and use both the North Little Rock and Little Rock sides of the River Trail. It's so beautiful! You can do the whole loop, which is about 17 miles from our front door. Or you can drive to Murray Park or NLR Riverfront Park and ride from there. If you want to walk, head to Murray Park and the Big Dam Bridge, or a little farther west to Two Rivers Park, where we always see at least 40 deer along the trail. All trails are paved. We have camp chairs, umbrellas, coolers, reusable shopping bags, etc. if you want to use any of them. Just let us know. The Soma area is very safe, although if you leave something valuable in your car overnight, you may lose it overnight. Nights are also relatively safe. There is a homeless community downtown, but we haven't had any problems. Women should always be aware of their surroundings at night (this is true everywhere, unfortunately), but we certainly walk around the neighborhood at night to stroll, eat, drink, etc. The "Designing Women" house is right around the corner at 1321 Scott. There is so much to do and see in Little Rock! Ask us if we haven't caught your interest in any of the above and we'll provide other suggestions. Public transportation isn't great, but Uber and Lyft both operate in Little Rock. We do have a bus system, but it doesn't run at night. My (Stephanie) schedule is usually flexible, so if you need rides, we can get it figured out. Our office is downtown and airport runs are really easy. We have Uber and Lyft in LR, but are happy to do airport runs or give any other rides you might need if we're around.
