The River House, Fishing and Ski retreat

Surrounded by mature trees and natural beauty, the sound of the river is so tranquil it could make a wolverine purr. The heritage house provides that old cabin feeling from when you were a kid. Plenty of room for sleeping up to 11 people. Three bedrooms upstairs - The River Room has one queen size bed, with a large bay window that looks down at the river. The Middle Room or Fish Room has one double bed and one cot. The Far Room or Blue Room has one double bed. Two full sofa beds on main level in the living room. In the kitchen there is lots of counter space, everything you need for cooking. Two coffee pots that makes different sizes to suit if you have guests visit while you stay with us. Porch has lots of room to hang your fishing gear. Large freezer for your big salmon. In the living room you can view the river in all three windows or just read a book in peace and quiet. Upstairs has the three bedrooms with cozy warm blankets or duvets. Also shelves in the hall of reading materials, games and musical instruments.Satellite TV. Walk from inside to the front deck and sit by the fire on the large patio which over looks the river. Morning coffee, viewing the Hudson Bay Mountain and the Telkwa Mountain Range. Spend your day going on a hike on the Aldermere trail, fishing any lake or the world known Bulkley River for Steelhead,salmon or trout. Check fishing regulations for when to fish and what is available. Catch salmon right out front on the property. You can see the water conditions in the morning. Skiing(both cross country, back-country and downhill) snowshoes, snowmobiling, and bike rentals in town ten minutes away (not provided).Just added pontoon rentals for up to 6 people. Walk in Telkwa along the boardwalk to some of the historical houses and businesses. Play badminton, beach volleyball, croquet or horseshoes in the yard. Swim in the eddy at the park or play in the sand. Enjoy your vacation in peace and quiet, where flora, fauna, and cultural heritage are the primary attractions.
