Renovated grist mill, 5 min away from Catamount!

The adventure awaits in the Berkshires! Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city! This getaway is 1/4 mile away from Catamount and 15 mins from Great Barrington. This 22 acre secluded property has a charming home (1820), lush views, multiple bridges, a running stream and walking trails through the property! Great for families/friends to connect, relax, and endure many outdoor activities! There is a large fresh fed pond with waterfall for swimming. Pond house for changing and relaxing. You are able to use the entire home and 22 magical acres. There are walking trails, babbling brook, bridges, waterfall and pond (spring and summer). The home is set off the road for complete privacy. We are now offering a chef to cook your meals. The menu is extensive but if you don’t see what you want, she would be happy to make it. You can pick it up or have it delivered to the home at your desired time. THIS OPTION IS TEMPORARILY ON HOLD DUE TO COVID-19. I am sorry for the inconvenience. My home is self check in. More information will be given closer to your arrival date. My Groundskeeper will deliver the keys the day of checkin. That key will open both the front and kitchen door. The entire property can be used by the guests. There are 5 outdoor structures on the property which I am working on. Covid has made it very difficult to get materials and labor to get finished. Stay tuned! The garage at the end of the driveway is being used for storage at this time. The shed closest to the house has electricity. The garbage cans, games and other useful items for you stay. Be careful entering the structure across the bridge closest to the side deck and the stables up on the hill. I have electricity in and the wood for the new flooring but no one to put it in. The stable, although very interesting, I feel is unsafe. Please do not enter. There is a gas grill on the large deck off the kitchen. When using the grill please move it away from the house because of obvious fire safety reasons. There are 2 fire extinguishers in the house. I have put one in the kitchen near front window and the other on the shelf inside the door to the basement. Please locate both upon arrival Incase of emergency. I have 2 baby gates on the deck which can be wiped off and brought inside for either you child or pets. I have created 2 fire pits. One sits on the front lawn at the end of the driveway and the other is up behind the pond house. They are always stocked with wood and kindling. Both sit near running water so it will be easy for you to put out before leaving the area. There are many seating areas and tables on the property to enjoy the views of the pond and brook. There is a large dock that sits over the pond. It is fenced on 3 sides but an open area was left so you can enjoy the pond view. PLEASE ACCOMPANY CHILDREN WHEN NEAR ANY OF THE WATER FEATURES ON THE PROPERTY. I will be available 24 hours a day for any questions or concerns by phone. There are phone numbers in the house manual, that sits on the coffee table in the living room, for emergencies . Grounds keeper lives close by and would be happy to help at any hour. The home is secluded set way off Route 23 but at the top of the driveway the Berkshire experience awaits. Catamount and Butternut ski Mountains are very close. There are antique shops, cooking classes right in Hillsdale Hamlet, Bish Bash Falls is in Copake and The Rail Trail is a great spot for running or family walks. I am now offering a chef to cook your meals so you don’t have to even think about grocery shopping and getting meals on the table after a long day of fun. You can pick it up or for an extra charge, have it delivered. Please ask to see the menu if you are interested. The area has wonderful restaurants The old Mill, Lenox House and Wheatleigh Hotel are all close. Great Barrington has a great food scene and delicious ice cream. For your quick bites Four Brothers is very close. Every season there are many festivals. SPAC and Tanglewood are huge attractions for music and theater lovers. They are both very popular so I would buy tickets in advance. Hillsdale has a Blue Grass festival about a mile away from the house. I have many pamphlets on the living room table to give you ideas. It really is a wonderful area for a vacation all year round. You must have a car to get around the area. I have 2 bicycles for your enjoyment. If you are runner, this is a perfect area. Please do not smoke in or near any of the structures on the property. If you are going to use the grill, please move it away from the house while in use. The basement is not finished and used for storage and laundry. Unless you need to do a wash, I would appreciate if you didn’t go downstairs.
