Welcome to our beautiful little beach front community. Offering stunning sunset views and located mere steps from soft, sandy beaches, this is the perfect place to escape the everyday stresses of life. Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck as you overlook the ocean and contemplate your day. Your options for both exploration and relaxation are endless, ensuring you will truly enjoy your time on the island. Our cozy little cottage is perfect for couples, young families or anyone wishing to enjoy an activity filled retreat. Travelling light? There is a line from which to air dry your clothes. In need of groceries and supplies? You can shop at the local Co-op in Port Hood or the Fresh Mart in Mabou. Sandy feet and salty skin after a long day at the beach? Take a quick rinse under the outdoor shower. Looking for activities to complement your beach experience? If you enjoy biking, running or hiking you can hop onto The Celtic Shores Coastal Trail, a 92 km multi use trail that stretches from Port Hastings to Inverness. Additionally, we are located a mere 30 minutes from some of the worlds best golf courses - Cabot Links & Cabot Cliffs. Along the way you will find many dining and entertainment options, from The Red Shoe in Mabou, The Glenora Distillery in Glenora and The Panorama located at Cabot Links in Inverness (to name a few). If you feel like exploring the local Farmer's Market located in picturesque Mabou, you won't be disappointed. They offer a beautiful selection of local produce, grass fed meats, baked goods, jams and jellies, as well as wines. Enjoy the social vibe as you find the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one in the form of jewellery, hand dyed scarves, hands-on yarn goods, body care products and much more. This is just a handful of the many options available to you as you plan your upcoming vacation. The easiest way to reach me during your stay is via text or phone call. Port Hood has 5 beautiful sandy beaches to explore, allowing you to enjoy some of the warmest waters in Eastern Canada. Gorgeous views, warm sand, and ample space for sunbathing, building sandcastles and catching hermit crabs make for a truly memorable holiday. Fill up your cooler, grab your beach bag and chairs and stroll down to Sunset Beach. Set up your beach base on either side of the breakwater. The non lifeguard side showcases warm water and extensive sandbars. The lifeguard side is perfect for families who want an extra set of eyes on little ones as they splash in the surf. Interested in exploring our other beaches? Pack up your car and drive the very short distance to the Boardwalk Beach or Lawrence’s Beach. Lawrence’s Beach offers you a view of both Port Hood and Henry Island. Be sure to stop by the local Ice Cream shop a delicious post beach treat!
