Waterfront Retreat - 1.3 mile to Brattleboro

This private second floor bedroom offers beautiful views of the river. There is a comfortable new queen foam temperpedic bed as well as a futon couch where you can relax. You'll have your own bath with a large walk in shower. As guests you will have the use of the fireplace room and all outside space. We have many restaurants within two miles of the house. At this time we only are accepting fully vaccinated people as we share some space. This is our family home that overlooks the Connecticut River and you can see the river and nature from every room. Our family has enjoyed recreational activities year round and we wish to share this with our guests. Whether it is staying warm by our beautiful fieldstone fireplace, sipping wine or hot chocolate, reading a book on the comfy couches, taking a nap after a day of play, sitting with friends or hosting a game night we love our place all seasons. In summer you will find us on our deck or hanging out on our private dock (and we hope you will join us). The dock is accessible direct from the house down a short path. There you have the option to relax, fish, swim, kayak or canoe. Our guests are encouraged to enjoy the private bedroom, private bathroom, fireplace room, and all outdoor amenities, including; our deck, grill, dock and hiking paths. The hosts are easily accessible and will offer you privacy or will be willing to engage if that is your preference. They have lots of great information on local eateries, local events, recreational opportunities, hikes, galleries, theatre, etc. We are the end of a dirt road and offer a peaceful retreat. We are the perfect location; 1.3 miles from Battleboro VT. and 20 minutes from Keene, N.H. We are near to all local colleges, eateries, galleries, community theatre, circus arts (NECCA), bowling, and an indoor pool and spa etc. Our area is known for the literary festivals, strolling of the heiffers parade, international film festivals, women's film festival,, farmers markets (summer and winter), monthly gallery walk, the Marlboro music festival, the pumpkin festival etc. We are near to beautiful hiking, and local farms where you can pick whatever fruit is in season. Keene has miles of bike paths if the hills of Brattleboro are too intimidating. Most people travel here by car although we are less than 5 miles from the train station in Brattleboro. We can do pick up if arranged in advance. We live on a dirt road 1\3 mile off of the main route (which is paved) In winter snow tires are advisable for our road. You are welcome to bring your own kayaks or canoes. You can fish directly from the dock or boat but will need to buy a NH. fishing license first. Contact your hosts for more information. We have one dog and no other house pets.
