Blue Haven in the Catskills

We built a studio-house on the foundation of an old summer cottage. We did not expand the footprint, but furnished it with select pieces and appliances and gave it contemporary finishes. We also added a screened porch, open deck and stone patio. The woodland and mountain views are lovely, while the location is convenient to Lake Minnewaska State Park and the Mohonk Preserve. Ulster County levies a 2% tax on overnight stays. Payment is made anytime between confirmation and arrival. A one-room house provides an intimate setting for getting away from it all. Perfect for writers and anyone who craves solitude, or for a couple who want to enjoy one another's company. American Leather sofa converts to a very comfortable queen-size bed (no bars). Fully equipped kitchen. Rainfall shower. Wi-Fi, but no television! It's all yours. Grandview Avenue is a small, extremely quiet street which lives up to its name. Walk to Stewart's for ice cream in ten minutes, or stay home and enjoy the grand view. The house has a driveway and is a two-hour drive from NYC. At the bottom of our hill (ten-minute walk), there is direct bus service 3 times a day to PABT. As we were having this small house built, purchasing and installing the windows was a big event. We spent time designing a space with lots of windows to take in the beautiful view, but allowing for a feeling of privacy in the area where we placed the bed. We love our windows so much that we have had no treatments of any kind put on them. We use a septic system. Please do not put anything other than septic-safe toilet paper into the toilet.
