The Atlantic is what you see the first thing in the morning from our over 100 year old Nova Scotian house. We take great care to keep the old part of the house as original as possible. We live in the attached part of the house. We run a small hobby farm with some chickens, two cats and two dogs. The whole property, including the pool, the fire pit and the kids play area is fenced in. The Blue Cottage is attached to our house but has a separate entrance. The only shared space is the hallway, which is the entrance to our side of the house. Besides a living room and a small kitchen there is the Sun Room overlooking the garden and a patio for the warmer days. One of the bedrooms with an ensuite, the Yellow Room, is on the ground floor. The other two, the Red and Green Room, are upstairs and share a bathroom with shower. Both upstairs bedrooms have a stunning view of the ocean. We usually open the pool from June onwards. The water is not heated but still considerably warmer than the Atlantic :-) Meisner Beach is just across the road and perfect for a morning or evening stroll. The South Shore is well known for hiking, cycling and kayaking. The location is within short distance to Chester and Hubbards (10 minutes) with their restaurants and farmers markets, Lunenburg (35 minutes), Peggy's Cove (50 minutes) and many other small villages and attractions. The house is on the famous Lighthouse Route (Highway 329) and within 45 minutes drive to Halifax or Peggy's Cove, 10 minutes to Chester or Hubbards, where there are excellent Restaurants and Pubs.
