This is the perfect place for a longer stay with a full living room & complete kitchen and dining area. The secluded garden affords security and privacy yet only a 15 minute walk to town, or less than a five minute ride by easily hailed tuc-tuc. Because of time zone differences your request might come when we are away or possibly asleep. If you like what you see, you can instant book. Note: we can't arrivals after 8:00 PM, unless you advise us by phone of an emergency. The Apartment is quiet and very private. Once inside the gate, you are in your own paradise, away from the hustle and bustle of town. This unit was designed for someone or a couple who plan to stay 5 days or more. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room table for six, so you can entertain, wi-fi and video player for those nights when you feel like kicking back. It's really more like your home away from home. Long term rates can be negotiated. Please note that rate is for one person/night. There is an additional charge for a 2nd person. There is not enough sleeping space for any additional people, so we cannot accommodate a 3rd person under any circumstances. You will be only a 10 - 15 minute walk to town, or a 3 minute ride by tuc-tuc, the local 3 passenger taxis. You can also walk to the lake in about 5 minutes, to just sight see or to swim, and if you like, can walk along a beautiful road which leads to the next indigenous town, Santa Catarina, which can be done in about a half hour. You have complete privacy, via your own private entrance at street level. If you have a car, there is secure parking. I am always reachable in my house which is about 100 stairs up from street level and happy to answer any questions you may have. Because your time is generally limited, as you want to make the most of your time here, it's not always easy to meet. However, if I don't find you in your casita to say hello, please feel free to walk up the stairs and visit me at my house. You can phone me, or send me an email to make sure I am around, or you can be spontaneous, and walk up the hill to the 2nd Blue Gate and ring the doorbell. The Neighborhood, Jucanya, is quiet and away from the hubub of the central part of town. It's a neighborhood, off the beaten tourist path. If you have time, it's worth walking the narrow streets, where many local families live. Interestingly, it has quite a mixture of houses, from the poorest to the most magnificent, but many behind walls. Sometimes, it's more fun after dark, when you get a better glimpse of local life. The property is only a 10-15 minute walk to town and everything you need. If you're not up to walking, you can take a tuc-tuc, the 3 passenger taxis, which are ubiquitous in Panajachel, for 5 Quetzal (about 60 cents US / per person). After 10:00 PM you can expect to be charged 10 Q/person, Note: We don't provide personal laundry services, but you can find laundries in town on Calle Santender that will wash & dry your clothes at reasonable rates. After getting a few complaints about poor reception, the Wi-Fi has been updated and is more powerful, so your Internet reception should be great. There is a small flat panel tv which is connected to a DVD player, plus a few recent movies to watch on longer stays. You can also buy DVDs of recent films in town and bring them home to watch.
