What could be better than enjoying the crackling of a wood burning fire (please remember to open the chimney before you start a fire. You’ll also need to bring your own wood) with your family and friends at a cottage nestled in the woods? Located only minutes from fabulous ocean beaches, great swimming lake, our home is equipped with internet & Netflix. Forget something? Only 10 minute car ride to the closest convenience store. The entire house is yours while you stay in our home As often or infrequent as you like. Just let me know Stuff To Do: Other than Pender Hill (just a 2 minute walk from our place) the other walks to do are, walking round the block lol, it takes around 45mins and the views can be pretty good. Just turn left at the road and keep going left till you get back to the house. Mount Daniel is back on Garden Bay Road. It’s a reasonably steep walk, it takes around 90mins up 60 mins down, the views aren’t as good as Pender Hill but there are some historical artifact up there including a sacrifice circle. The other popular trip are Skookumchuck Rapids, you should check the tide table before hand if you want to see the rapids. The walk is around 1hr each way and it’s about a 20-minute drive to Edgmont. Smugglers Cove is really nice, if you go here maybe do it on your way in or on your way out as its 30 mins away. Figure on spending around 2hrs to do the loop. The scenery is really nice and it’s usually nice and quiet. Porpoise Bay is just outside Sechelt, a nice stop in the summer because it has a beach. For beaches near the cottage the best one is Katherine Lake but is can be busy here in the summer, otherwise just jump in any of the other lakes. The water is pretty warm in the summer. We have been swimming in all the lakes but Katherine Lake is the best for anyone with kids as it has a bit of a beach and isn’t very deep and there is also a playground. Don't forget your beach towels On Saturday there is a farmer’s market in Sechelt (you drive right past it), and it’s worth stopping off at Gibson on your way home if only to say that you went to Molly’s Reach which is famous for Beachcomers. Shops: The nearest store is on Garden Bay road, and they sell liquor too! It’s open most of the time. The nearest pub, and place to buy restaurant food is the Garden Bay pub, its OK there. The best restaurants are only open in the summer such as the Italian at the Ruby Lake Resort and Laverna’s (the best fish and chips I've ever had), in Garden Bay We recommend having your own vehicle as public transit and taxis are not frequently available. Please note: -This space sleeps 6 comfortably (2 in each bed). The extra 2 allows for those wishing to bring a tent to sleep outside or a blowup mattress in the living room -cellphone reception in not the best, but wifi is AWESOME!
