This is a large, oval bedroom with an attached bath in a luxury home with beautiful landscaping on six acres. There is a heated pool, hot tub & tennis court open seasonally. $50,000 renovation of pool, patio and firebowl areas just completed. The home was designed/decorated by an architect/interior designer. It is more like a country club. bedroom has a separate entrance; continental breakfast from 7:30 to 9 AM. Adults only, no pets/assistance animals. Smart Roku TV. Covid Vaccination required. There is a large circular driveway and a grand, contemporary main entrance. There is also a newly refurbished pool, hot tub and purple and green tennis court as well as a fire bowl ($25 extra for firewood) on the property and we border a 126 acre farm yet are only a mile from major interstate thoroughfare York Rd. and highway I-83. Bedroom has internet TV. We are two miles from the Warren Rd. Light Rail station. The Light Rail comes from the airport, goes through the football and baseball stadiums, downtown Baltimore, Penn (train) Station and goes all the way to Hunt Valley (Cockeysville). Access to the house - The separate private entrance for the guests requires the ability to navigate three outdoor staircases (6 steps each) so guests must be sufficiently mobile to be able to go up and down concrete steps without assistance. The house is built on a hillside so one enters the house through the main (West) entrance which appears to be on the first floor but in fact, when entering the house from the east entrance, is the second floor. The oval guest room, which is not wheelchair accessible, is on the first floor. Virtually all the furniture in the room was custom made by a local cabinetmaker to be built-in to the round walls at either end of the oval room. Guests have access to the living room, formal dining room, gallery, den, powder room, and solarium with treadmill. There are beautiful views through most of the home's 175 windows. A continental breakfast is served 7:30-9 AM - a nice spread with cloth napkins and silver service - consisting of juice, fresh fruit, coffee or tea, croissants, muffins and/or bagels, is included in the price of the room. Only registered guests are allowed on the property. Guests may not invite or have guests of their own without having them registered at the time of the reservation. Please make sure at the time you make your reservation that you include the correct number of guests and communicate their names and contact information to the hosts. Dr. Ken has an office in the home and so is present daily. He is friendly and helpful and can suggest places to go and things to do in the area if needed. Guests are aware this is a private residence inhabited by a married couple together 42 years, 39 of which were in this home. Although guests can expect privacy in their rooms, the common areas, e.g. pool, hot tub, patio and fire bowl areas are shared spaces and as such guests should not expect private use of those amenities. Despite the fact of its proximity to a major thoroughfare that leads right into the heart of Baltimore City, this property feels like a private country club and no other homes can be seen from any of its 175 windows...only gardens, fields and woods. Wildlife like deer, possum, raccoons, squirrels and many different types of songbirds are seen routinely. The neighborhood is very safe. Although we are close to a Baltimore Light Rail stop (Warren Rd.), which goes to and from BWI airport and through downtown Baltimore to Hunt Valley, a car is a "Should Have." Uber and Lyft also operate here so private drivers are quickly and easily available. Prospective guests should be aware you are renting a room in a private, owner-occupied home. As such, you will not have exclusive use of the common areas of the home. You will be guaranteed privacy in the rooms you reserve. Guests must present valid, government-issued picture ID’s on check-in. Prior to check-in and during the corona virus pandemic, guests must complete a Covid-19 Attestation form showing they are free of symptoms of the corona virus and have not been exposed in the previous two weeks. Checkin/checkout times are firm (3 pm and 10 AM respectively), but early checkin or late checkout until 3 PM may be possible for a fee of 1/2 the room charge. Check with the host in advance please. Cockeysville and Hunt Valley are one and the same with the same zip code. Bring your tennis racquets or borrow ours! Swimsuits are optional as the setting is totally private. Guests assume all risk and responsibility for use of the pool and hot tub and must acknowledge that there is no lifeguard, indemnify the hosts and agree to hold the hosts harmless in case of accident (must sign waiver to swim). The pool and hot tub are open Seasonally (dates vary) 7:30 AM to 10 PM. Call to check if they are open for your reservation dates. Note: we have a second, smaller bedroom down the hall from the oval bedroom listed on Airbnb (see Westmore Estate II listing) in case you were traveling with another one or two adults. Although this listing shows a shared bathroom, it is almost never actually shared as it is very rare that both our bedrooms are taken at the same time. On the VERY rare occasions that room is rented at the same time the Oval Room is rented, then both parties will share the bathroom between them. That said, there is a gorgeous powder room upstairs which can be used by the Contemporary Cave guests. There is another full bathroom upstairs which may be used by the Contemporary Cave guests. 10% discount for weekly stays; 15% discount for monthly stays. Breakfasts not included for weekly and monthly stays.
