Shady Riverfront House, Flushing near Trail & Park

Come stay in this quaint, relaxing house right on the Flint River. Perfect for families or weekend stays. Set in a quiet subdivision with large wooded lots full of wildlife. It's a 5 minute walk to the park and walking trail. Spend time in town, 5 minute drive, where there are local restaurants, pubs, shopping and ice cream. This listing is for the entire house which includes upper and lower level that has 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. Guests have full access to the yard and river front. This peaceful river house is on a beautiful wooded lot, overlooking the Flint river. Guests have access to the entire house including the mother-in-law suite below. The house has a raised back porch where guests can sit and watch birds and squirrels eat from the feeders. Get your morning exercise by taking a walk on the Flushing nature trail, just a short walk from the house. (Website hidden by Airbnb) We're pet friendly and the Flushing County Park has a large dog park just down the street off Carpenter. On the upper level we have an open kitchen area, with a large fridge, lots of pots and pans, dishwasher, gas range and a coffee maker. Just off the kitchen is a large dining room area with table that sits 6-8 and a large living room to hang out with family and friends or watch a movie on the TV. Upstairs bedrooms are a master bedroom which is in the back of the house with views of the river and is equip with a queen bed, dresser, closet and a private full master bath. The guest room has a twin bunk bed with access to a full guest bathroom in the hall. The upstairs hallway closet is stocked with linens and towels. We keep many toys on the shelves and children supplies on demand. Perfect for families. Lower level of the house the mother-in-law suite offers a third bedroom with a queen bed & twin bed, closet, TV, dresser, full kitchen, full bathroom with a walk in waterfall shower, and a living room with a sleeper sofa and TV. Walk out porch just outside the sliding glass door to view nature from. There is no cable but all the televisions have a Roku with free Netflix and HBO. The back upper patio has a table and chairs for 4. You have full access to the yard which is 50 steps to the river front where you can sit in a chair to enjoy the sun, watch kayaks paddle by, or go fishing in the Flint river. The lot is shaded with lush ground cover through out. This keeps the house and patios cool in the summer and the trees full of squirrels. LBGTQ friendly! Guests have space to park in the drive way which can hold 3-4 cars. Additional parking can be on the road if needed. Guests will be given their privacy but we are always available by phone or text to answer questions or give recommendations about the local area. I have friends and family in town should assistance in person be required. House is located in a quaint, secluded block of a safe local neighborhood. Access to Flushing Riverview Walking trail is 5 minutes walk from the front door. The Flushing Riverview Trail goes from the downtown Flushing Main Street Bridge to the Flushing County Park and is approximately 1.4 miles long. The trail has rest area bumpouts with benches and tables that were hewn out of the trees logged from the actual trail route. The route includes a 72' span bridge over Cole Creek and a 200' bridge over the Flint River. The trail is suitable for walking, biking, roller-sports or any other non-motorized mode of transportation. It has a fishing pier and pedestrian bridge that provide Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible fishing opportunities. The trail ends in downtown Flushing where you can get a bite to eat at Johnny's Pour House or Kathy's Restaurant. You can also do a bit of shopping or get a coffee and a pastry at The Elbow Room. No access to public transportation near the house. CHILDREN: There is no fence at the riverfront and poison ivy in a few areas of the ground cover. Please keep this in mind if you bring children with you. PETS: Our suite is dog friendly but be aware that we are in the woods so your dogs may see critters to chase or bark at. There are also dogs that run loose in the neighborhood but they are very friendly. Please keep your dog on a leash and monitored. There is a very large dog park 2 mins driving distance away and a walking trail. Both are accessible on foot from the house. We are in a neighborhood with neighbors all around so please be mindful.
