The Sugar Maple Treehouse @ Vermont ReTREEt
The Sugar Maple Treehouse was hand built by us as a peaceful and serene reTREEt in central Vermont. Surrounded by the wilderness of the Green Mountain National Forest and perched high above the ground in three maples trees, there is no place better to escape to. There are so many things to do in this area between Killington and Sugarbush, I can't list them all! Between the cozy bed and in-house massage therapist you probably won’t want to leave anyway. Please read the entire description. You can relax in the treehouse and enjoy being surrounded by nature or you can be adventurous and go explore the surrounding forest. After you park your car, you will get to walk along the path and across the beaver creek bridge and up the path some more until you come across the treehouse nestled in the forest perched up on three beautiful maple trees. We are usually home working on things so feel free to stop by after check in if you have any questions. The wife is a massage therapist who offers massages to treehouse guests out of her treestudio. Make sure to reach out ahead of time if you plan on booking a massage because she does book up weeks out. Our neighbors include the Green Mountain National Forest and the river! But we do have local places and fun things to do from hiking trails to skiing at Killington and Sugarbush resorts, fishing and hunting in the local areas, art and food in nearby Rochester, and breweries in Middlebury! Personal vehicles, bikes, and hiking boots are the best way to get around up here. While we tried to make this treehouse as easy to access as possible, the path to the treehouse is 650’ in length up a slight hill. With the treehouse being located in a forest the walking path can be a bit muddy, bumpy, snow covered, perfect, of a combination of everything so please bring appropriate footwear. We expect to clean the treehouse after each guest so there is no additional cleaning fee, but if you leave a mess we will contact you and ask for a cleaning fee. We love animals and enjoy when guests gets to bring theirs! We just do not like cleaning up after those furry family members so we are asking for you to bring a bed or blanket for the furry one to sleep on. We do have a fee of $20 per day per pet for normal wear and tear. Airbnb is set up to charge you for the first night, but any more nights will be added manually. This fee does not include any extra cleaning or damage to the treehouse. If you bring a pet with out telling us a head of time, we will add on $50 since we use different linens when pets are visiting and won’t be able to change them out on your arrival. (I do apologize if this sounds over the top in anyway, a few bad apples are why we had to implement such things). Please let us know your estimated time of arrival on arrival day so I know when to come down from the trees and keep an eye out. Showing up without giving me a heads up could cause up to an hour wait time until I can get you checked in since I could be in the middle of a project in the forest. We try to be as accommodating as possible by having a 4 hour check in window, if you want to check in out side of that time frame we will do so to the best of our abilities at a charge of $30 per hour. The bathroom consists of a composting toilet which is on the same treehouse platform. We have a seasonal heated outdoor shower which is operational in the warmer months. We will provide you with some drinking water in a bottle and hand sanitizer. The treehouse is well insulated and has electric heaters that will keep you plenty warm on the coldest of Vermont nights. For those that want to disconnect while still being able to connect we now have internet and a small smart tv in this treehouse! We will help bring your belongings up to the treehouse upon your arrival but can not guarantee help bringing them back down as we both work in the mornings. We want to make sure everyone who visits our treehouse knows what they are booking by reading the description and not just our glorious reviews because the experience at our treehouse is not for everyone. To indicate that you have read all of this please include your favorite type of tree when you message us!
