Your initial feeling on arriving at this Refined, Brand New West Coast Contemporary Residence is ‘We’ve arrived Somewhere Truly Special’ – right in front of the Ocean, enveloped in Cedar and Natural Stone. Ample Parking is Right Outside the front door and Check in is so Easy with an eye level lockbox right at your fingertips. Upon entering Orcas’ Watch, you’ll be Impressed with the Breathtaking Ocean and Mountain Views as well as the Vaulted Ceilings. The temperature can be perfectly adjusted for your comfort, thanks to the A/C & Cozy Gas Fireplace. Wish to freshen up after your trip? Head over to either one of the Master Suites with King Size Sleep Number beds and Fine Linens – Garanteed to give you a Perfect Nights’ Sleep every time. What’s that Splashing in the water?– oh that’s probably just Sammy and Sally, our local seals - be sure to say hi to them – as they know their names. :) Hopefully you’ll catch a glimpse of the silhouette of Harry, our resident Heron fishing patiently on the rocks, but you’ll need to be quiet as he’s very Shy. And did you see that? There’s an Eagle catching a fish in the Famous Frenchman’s Pool directly in front of Orca’s Play. Spectacular! Did you know that in August 1983 a 62lb Tyee King Salmon was caught in Frenchman’s Pool and then 13 days later another 61 lb salmon was brought in. (And guys eat your heart out as they were both caught by women :) Maybe you feel like relaxing on your Observation Deck with a refreshing beverage. Shhhh – What’s that sound? Is it an ORCA? OMG! It’s a Whole Pod! WOW! And then Look! there’s a Shimmering Cruise Ship sailing by. Perhaps you’d enjoy a game of cards or just kick back and read a book – that is if you can take your eyes off the Dynamically changing View of ‘Tugboat Alley’ long enough…. Need to freshen up your clothes – no problem – there is a Private, Complimentary Washer and Dryer in your residence. Good morning! Enjoy your morning coffee with a view. Need to pick up a few groceries or some fresh local seafoods to grill on your personal BBQ? No worries - several grocery stores are only 5 minutes away for a quick restock. There is even a liquor store just one minute away, open late, 7 days a week. The local Government Wharf has a Sea Monger for fresh seafood, right out of the Pacific Ocean – just 10 minutes away. Don’t feel like cooking? No worries, there are 3 gourmet restaurants within walking distance- Dolphin’s Resort, Painter’s Lodge or take a water taxi from Painter’s over to April Point, as well as a number of other restaurants within a 5 – 10 minute drive. ABOUT ORCA’S PLAY The Residences at Orca’s Play features 240’ of Beachfront on the ever-changing Discovery Channel in the Salish Sea, where you will both See and Hear Majestic Orcas and Humpback Whales, Curious Seals & Sea Lions, Dolphins, bald Eagles soaring, as well as many local Deer. In the months of May to October watch Luxurious Cruise Ships sail by. Storm watching is great in the winter months - you will see ships and tugboats fight their way through the wind & waves as they pass by through the mist. Please note that we have another suite on the property. However the only shared area is the beach. We have many beach chairs and lounges, two fire pit areas - wood is included, 2 double kayaks and 3 single kayaks plus life jackets. We live in the main residence on site, so if you need anything, we are just a Phone call or Text away. Also, we have people nearby to help if we are not here. Our interaction with you will be as little or much as you like. Please note that we have another suite on the property. However the only shared area is the beach. Some of the local activities – should you wish to venture out are Salmon Fishing - Campbell River is the World’s Capital for Salmon. During winter months you can golf in the morning at one of Campbell Rivers’ 3 golf courses, then drive 45 mins and ski at world famous Mt Washington (also open in summer for hikes and biking) then return to your personal Spa to relax those muscles, which feels especially good during the winter months. Whale and Grizzly Bear watching are very popular as well as Wine or Whiskey Tasting Tours and there are many Crystal-Clear Lakes and Rivers for Hiking -including the close by Canyon River view walk by the Campbell River. Look over the Thundering Elk Falls with a Suspension Bridge, go Kayaking or Beachcombing and check out the Awesome Stars on a Clear Night. Go for a Quiet Walk or Bike Ride in the SAFE, Family oriented neighborhood. Walk over and enjoy a cocktail and appy’s at Painter’s Lodge or Dolphins Resort – also great for dining.
