The Garden Cottage

Welcome to our garden guest cottage! Our property is on 1/4 acre with a main house and a separate 400 sq foot studio nestled in a private backyard sanctuary. Close proximity to Huntington Gardens , Universities and, in the heart of the historic Rose Bowl Parade route. The perfect tranquil retreat to come home to after spending the day exploring LA. A private garden sanctuary! Newly remodeled 400 sq foot studio with all the creature comforts including: • Full-size, fully stocked kitchen with modern appliances including fridge, toaster, stove, and Keurig coffee maker • Brand new flat screen TV with Netflix • Queen-size bed with top of the line, eco-friendly Flexus mattress • Cozy Bar Top breakfast area • Full bathroom with spacious walk-in shower and all the amenities: Rudy's bathroom products, iron and hair dryer • Hotel quality towels and linens • Private patio to enjoy the lovely backyard gardens The cottage is situated some distance behind the main house, so you'll be able to enjoy a lot of privacy. The small terrace by the cottage entrance is all yours. There is plenty of free parking on the street. On street cleaning days (Wednesdays) and events such as the Rose Bowl Parade, we will make parking available in the driveway. We will likely be residing in the main house during your stay. We are always happy to provide recommendations and guidance while you are our guests, but we'll respect your privacy as we hope you can respect ours. We have two friendly small dogs that you may see out and about in the yard at times. They like to say "Hello" if they see you, but will never have access to the cottage or private guest areas during your stay. If you should need anything, simply text us. We are usually available until 11 pm. If we aren't reachable for whatever reason, feel free to leave a message and we'll be sure to get back to you at our earliest convenience. Of course, in the event of an emergency or to gain access to the property, we are available 24/7. Pasadena is a lovely historic suburb of Los Angeles. There are plenty of local sights to see but it's also a great jumping off point to explore the LA area. Within Walking Distance... We are just one block from COLORADO BLVD with shopping, coffee shops, grocery and restaurants. This is also the famous ROSE BOWL PARADE ROUTE. We have several recommendations for great places within walking distance. The major UNIVERSITIES including Cal Tech and Pasadena City College which has a great Sunday flea market. METRO GOLD LINE, with access to downtown, Staples Center, etc. A Short Drive... 2 miles to the gorgeous Huntington Library and Gardens 3 miles to historic Old Town Pasadena with over 50 restaurants, bars, shopping and more 5 miles to Rose Bowl (UCLA games, College Bowl, concerts, flea market) 8 miles to NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) A little farther... 12 miles to Downtown Los Angeles 15 miles to Hollywood 17 miles to Universal Studios 27 miles to Santa Monica/Venice Beach 30 miles to Disneyland We are walking distance to Colorado Blvd. which includes shipping, restaurants and all major conveniences. We are also walking distance to the bus station and the Metro Gold Line which provides easy access to Old Town Pasadena, Downtown LA and Staples Center. Travel to West Hollywood, Santa Monica and other parts of Los Angeles is best done with a car but we are happy to offer up ways to get around with public transport.
