Mountain Villa- " A home away from Home"
Note: Please read and become familiar with all the information provided in the sections below. This 3 BR 3.5 bath Country House with equipped kitchen accommodates up to 10 people. Magnificent view of the mountain side. Peaceful and relaxing!. Located between Adjuntas and Lares. Nearby main attractions include such as Toro Verde. The house is equipped 2 fully functional A/C units. One large unit in the family/kitchen area, a second large unit in the master room and fans in ether bedroom. One of our guest perspective of the home: Pictures don't tell the story..."The house is on a hill, at the end of a lane. This provides a quiet location since no cars are passing by. The sundeck provides views to the mountains in the distance and privacy is given by the surrounding vegetation. The back of the house has a large covered patio complete with a grill, seating for 6, and views to the mountains. It is perfect to be able to be outside even if it happens to rain. The house, particularly the kitchen/living room and master bedroom are much larger than they appear in the photos. Each bedroom has an in suite bathroom with shower. The master bathroom has double sinks and a large walk-in shower. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and the other two bedrooms have large closets. There is also a half bath off the living room. Throughout the entire house the ceilings are covered with wood beams. The washer and dryer are large capacity front loaders and are located in a separate laundry room. The kitchen is fully equipped and we have had everything we’ve needed to cook meals. There are air-conditioners in each room, but the design allows the cool mountain breezes to flow through the entire house when the windows and doors are open. With the elevation in the mountains, the temperature is much cooler than at lower elevations near the coast. We have found that we rarely need to run the air-conditioners because of the wonderful breeze that blows through the house." IMPORTANT: We ask our guests to be considered in the consumption of electricity and drinking water. Due to our condition as a tropical island, the consumption of these services is highly expensive and we always promote environmental protection. Home is equipped with self check in lock. In occasions we will welcome you at check in and provide you with a set of keys. Be aware the surveillance cameras. The cameras only cover external areas to ensure proper virtual check in and compliance with house rules, including number of guests, and home security during vacant times. Tampering with the surveillance cameras constitutes a violation of house rules and could result on eviction Virtual- Primary means of communication will be via the Airbnb app. Adjuntas is known by many names, the city is commonly known as "La Ciudad del Gigante Dormido" (the city of the sleeping giant) because a mountain formation called by that name. It is also known as "La Suiza de Puerto Rico" (the Switzerland of Puerto Rico) because it's low temperatures, with an average yearly weather of 72 degrees Fahrenheit. Last but not least, "La Tierra de los Lagos" (the land of lakes) because of the many water holes in its mountainous terrain. Adjuntas has one of the highest mountain peaks on the island, Guilarte Peak (3,953 ft.), located in the Guilarte Forest. Many rivers run through and around the town, including Río Grande de Arecibo which originates in the ward Juan González, crossing the city from south to north. Other rivers include Guilarte, Tanamá, Pellejas, Vacas, Cidra and Limaní. We highly recommend the car rental for the full enjoyment of the places of interest in our area. Taxis are very expensive and do not operate 24/7 or 7 days a week. Island Weather: When you think of Puerto Rico, you inevitably think of tropical beaches and glorious weather. However, the island is positioned in the path of many of the tropical storms and hurricanes that cross the Greater Antilles during the hurricane season from June through to November. More than 90% of the PR Electrical Power Agency (PREPA) transmission and distribution system is above ground, making it particularly vulnerable to the high winds, torrential rains, and erosion that is commonly associated with tropical storms and hurricanes. As a result, power blackouts, voltage fluctuations, surges and water outages are not uncommon occurrences during the hurricane season. To help minimize the impact our home is equipped with lanterns, a gas grill, and a generator. The generator is capable to run minimum essentials and it is not meant to run continually for extended periods of time. The generator and two 5-gallons tanks are provided for the guests convenience. Any additional gas will be at guest expense. At no time the guest will depart the property leaving the generator running. That puts the home and its content in danger of possible fire.
