Tranquility Bay Newfoundland...

Introducing Tranquility Bay - a gem close to home. Our unique two-acre property offers the ambiance of a Cape Cod Beach House just 1 hour drive from St. John's. Featuring a stunning open room with a 14ft high fireplace, hot tub, panoramic views of Trinity bay and a private beach to enjoy a cozy campfire. Our vision for Tranquility Bay was a Cape Cod Beach house but the location is spectacular in its own special way and it is truly a unique experience. EVERY WEEKEND from June to October 2016 we could watch either whales, dolphins or tuna from the front deck. There is a nearby eagle nesting (its huge!) and the seals were in earlier in the season as well. The private beach is incredible, caplin rolled ashore during the first full moon in July and our boys simply scooped them out of the water with a hand-held net. You can catch endless "connors" from just off the beach and the exploring and adventure just goes on-and-on. Don't forget to scramble down the rocks to our "hidden" "Treasure Beach".... This property could easily have been divided to rent two separate spaces at the same time, but we opted against it. There are really two complete homes here, but we rent them as one. We offer the main floor of the main house (completely newly renovated) as well as a 2nd bathroom and sitting room of the second to anyone renting it as a 3 bedroom home. For larger groups, we offer the 2nd floor which consists of another 1 and 1/2 baths and 3 more bedrooms doubling the occupancy. We are available to answer questions and can be contacted quite easily prior to and during your stay. We will not be present on site except for your arrival and departure. Dildo, NL is a delightful little hamlet. It is quaint and quintessentially outport Newfoundland. This town of approximately 1200 offers a great restaurant, beautiful marina, cafes, gift shops and more. Stroll around town or just beyond to Anderson's Cove and experience some of the best shoreline in the province! Tranquility Bay is almost exactly 1 hour drive from St. John's. The directions are tricky and we'll pass those along at the time of booking. Tranquility Bay is beautiful and you will simply love it here. After an extensive renovation in the summer of 2016, we will continue to add to the comfort and amenities of the property. Those reserving space for the summer of 2017 should be aware that we will be constructing a swimming pool which may impact your stay either in an inconvenient way while under construction or a pleasant way when complete.
