Bikers/hikers can easily access the Confederation Trail. Country living in the city. A car is necessary unless you are an avid cyclist. Although Charlottetown centre is accessible by biking, it is a hilly route. There is a bicycle path nearby but to get to it requires about 2 km. on a busy road. To get to the tourist sites, you definitely need a car. It is a 7km. walk into the centre of the city; Bus stop is 1.5 km walk and bus service is intermittent. Taxi fares within Charlottetown are pretty cheap and the airport is only ten minutes away by car. There are beaches accessible by bicycle but again, you would want to be an experienced cyclist.
