This beautiful estate dates back to 1852 and holds a great deal of history and beauty! One of the D.C. area's best kept secrets. History & Nature Lover's Haven: This home sits on one of Maryland's earliest land-grant properties, with direct connections to the Star-Spangled Banner. This terraced manor is also home to the third oldest beech tree in the state. Pretty close to DC, but with seclusion and nature! Explore the house or the 4 acre property. Perfect family getaway with so much space :) Taking extra cleaning precautions for Covid safety! Guests have their own 4 private bedrooms, 3.5 baths, dinning room, library, ballroom, tv room, and lounge. The kitchen is the only space we may interact as it is the entrance to my apartment on the east wing if the house. You may occasionally see me and my housemate crossing through this back area to enter/exit. Convenience: Only a 12 minute drive (or Uber ride) to the nearest DC Metro stop (Largo- Blue Line), which can take you into the heart of DC quickly. Also situated a short drive from Starbucks, Target, restaurants, and more- you really have it all! The house has heating and cooling in every room for your comfort. Would love to host you :) Guests will have 4 private bedrooms and 3.5 private bathrooms as well as access to the private ballroom, lounge, library, kitchen, and dinning room areas. Guests may also explore the 4 acre property. Present at check-in, but then little to no interaction unless requested. My housemate and I currently live in a built in apartment space on the house with private entrance- so you basically have the mansion to yourselves. Might only cross paths in the kitchen. Very peaceful and quite neighborhood, but feel secluded in this hilltop estate on 4 acres of land. There is a beautiful view of the horse farm right behind the home. This brilliant and historic home has modern convenience with charm of the past. Only 10 minutes from Starbucks, Target, Restaurants (both fast food and quick service). Also UBER accessible and only a 12 minute drive from the DC AREA METRO which will get you into the city very quickly. Driving Guests Welcome- plenty of parking. Guests Without Vehicles: UBER Accessible from Metro DC METRO AREA (Blue Line) - Takes visitors directly into the heart of DC, Smithsonian, Etc. Likewise, you can get to the house from an Uber Ride from the Largo Metro Station. If flying in: DCA: Can easily take metro from Reagan International (Red Line) to Largo stop (Blue Line) then just a quick Uber/Taxi/Etc. BWI: From airport, take shuttle to BWI MARC train station. Take southbound train to New Carrollton Station. Then Uber/Lyft/taxi 11 miles to the house. IAD: Take Washington Flyer bus to Welhi Station (silver line metro). Take Largo bound train.
