Sitting on 3 acres with views of the village, bay, and the beach...this is a gem. The view and feel from the cottage are second to none. Please read the REVIEWS as you will learn what others experienced! If you are looking for simplicity, quiet, rustic and beauty then this may be your place. There are great hikes, plenty of space, and a cottage that will be all your own. We are working on a few things like getting a nice firepit, outside picnic table and more for the best experience possible This two-floor cottage was first built in 1875 by our relatives and has been in the family since. There is an open kitchen with a view. You can retreat to your own rooms for a nap or to relax or spend time together in the living room for games or talking. Hopefully, a good part of your time will be on the front porch or being active outside as well. You will have access to everything in the cottage. You can chop wood, put on the wetsuit and snorkeling gear and head down to the bay to look for crabs and lobster on the ocean floor, enjoy the privacy of three acres, and so much more. Outside there is small crab catching at low tide, swimming in the ocean, walking on the rocks, kayaking in the bay (added cost), fishing (gear included), hiking, snorkeling (gear included), and a drive around the Cabot Trail! We will be there for a month in July/August but gone for the rest of the time. We have maintenance help and friendly neighbors for any type of issues or help you may have. There are only 4 houses on the island and you will feel as isolated as you want to feel. You can walk the village and meet people. There is only one other AirBnB in town and obviously no hotels:). If you would choose to do the laundry and clean yourself before you leave then there will be no fee for cleaning. We have come here yearly for 40 years and have never rented it out or even had friends stay much. We want to change that!
