South Shore Sanctuary

Welcome to the South Shore Sanctuary! Nestled in Dayspring, Nova Scotia next to the Lahave River - this 200 year old baptist church has been fully restored with love and is ready to be shared with those who can truly appreciate how special this space is. This will certainly be one of your most memorable airbnb experiences and we can't wait to host you. No large parties or events. Where to start? There are so many things that make this such a unique space. There is enough parking for 2 vehicles and a 3rd can probably fit if needed. There are 3 bedrooms with a daybed on the main floor, which is also great for sleep. Each bedroom has a queen bed. There are steep stairs for the 3rd bedroom in the steeple so you'll have to be careful up there, but once there you can sit down and look at beautiful views of the LaHave river. The main floor has a beautiful dining area with built in seating and the church is heated with a wood burning stove and a recent addition of a heat pump. Please note in the coldest days it can get a bit cold in some areas of the church as it's 200 years old. Bring pajamas. :) There is a fully stocked kitched with all cooking utensils and coffee. One bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower. There's a washer onsite but no dryer. Outside there's a guesthouse which we call the White Room. Inside you have a very cozy queen bed. Also outside you will find a wood firepit next to a dining table which is very romantic. There's a seating area with a propane firepit as well as a Cabana next to a pool. Oh yes, did we mention there was a dipping pool in the summer? There's Bell Fibre internet. No TVs. This truly is a place to relax, read a book, listen to records or just escape. Bridgewater and Lunenburg are both within' a 10 minute drive, so you have easy access to grocery stores and NSLC. Can be there to meet the guests if earlier checkin. If not, the keys can just be retrieved from the lockbox. 10 minutes from Lunenburg and Bridgewater. Overlooking the Lahave River.
