The Garden Cottage in Beautiful Ladysmith

The Garden Cottage has private entrance dedicated parking. A King sized bed and a single bed and fold-out mattress(available upon request), separated by a screen in a loft bedroom with an ocean view balcony. It is minutes walking from the "downtown" area of Ladysmith where you'll find restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, banks and pharmacy etc. It is minutes walking distance away from an extensive trail system and to the local marina and playground. Washer and drier are in the suite. We would prefer singles or couples with 1 or 2 children. The sleeping area is a loft with fairly steep stairs with child safety gate installed. King sized bed and a single bed are separated by a folding screen. A fold out mattress is available request when booking. Couples with a child or 2 children are welcome. One can sleep on a fold out. The bedroom is upstairs. We have a NO PET policy and try our best to make it free of allergens by using hypoallergenic cleaning materials. We discourage scents of any kind: NO DRIER SHEETS. We keep the space sparkling clean using allergy free cleaning products. It is strictly NO SMOKING on the property except in the alley. There is a coffee and tea station, microwave, Induction Element, toaster, and toaster oven, blender & a barbecue with propane for guests exclusive use. Large table downstairs for eating or working, plus a smaller table upstairs-suitable for working, patio table & chairs. The wifi is dedicated to the cottage only. The entire cottage is guests exclusive use. You will have your own parking spot. In summer guests can sit outside to have their meals, perhaps barbecued. We can provide you with directions to Transfer Beach which is a 10 to 15 minute walk or quick drive. You can rent kayaks and SUPs at Transfer Beach which also has a new children’s playground and water park. Food trucks go there in the summer months and there are picnic tables and outdoor Barbecues. On summer evenings enjoy fee concerts sitting in the amphitheater facing Ladysmith harbour. Self serve check- in. WE will give you total privacy but will be available to assist with questions about the area and local information . The amount of interaction will be your decision. During the summer months you may see us gardening in the beautiful fenced yard. We will need to water in the garden right under your windows and will try to do that when you are out. We’ll be available to provide items you may need for your stay or to answer questions. You will have your own dedicated parking space in the alley in front of your suite. . The cottage is only 3 blocks from “town” where you will find groceries. It’s also several blocks from the extensive trail system and within walking distance of the beach. Restaurants in Ladysmith include an English style pub, a gluten free market, an Indian restaurant, a vegan/gluten free restaurant, Spanish/Mexican Restaurant, Fish and Chips Shop, A Local Pizza shop etc. They all provide a Pick-up service. Please note: The bakeries, including the gluten free bakery/cafe will take orders in person or over the phone. The area around Ladysmith offers much for sight seeing, wine tours etc. From our home there are many places accessible by walking, such as "down town", marina, playground, beach, and trails. There are buses to other areas of the island but these must be booked on line-do some research if interested. They’ll stop for you in Ladysmith if booked. Access to the cottage is through the alley behind our house. We will give you directions when you book. It is in a residential neighbour hood conveniently close to the “main street of town” but quiet and peaceful. There is slight "rush hour noise"and typical neighbourhood noises. It is on a residential street. You will have your own parking spot. The stairs to the bedroom are fairly steep but baby safety gate installed.
