A 4X4 SUV is required to reach our hotel as our mountain road is steep. Aracari (small toucan) is a lower-ridge casitas offering a stunning view of the jungle canopy along with majestic views of mountains, cloud forests, and cattle pastures. This view offers ideal opportunities for watching birds, butterflies, and wildlife. Inspired by the region’s abundant wildlife and jungle plant life, each casita was meticulously designed with its own distinctive vibe and vista. Our four casitas represent a playful marriage of posh comfort in an inspirational setting. Most furnishings are hand-crafted by a local builder (“mueblero”) using Costa Rica’s famous Teak and Guanacaste hardwood, which are moisture and bug resistant. Each well-appointed casita sleeps two, featuring a king-size bed with elegant linen and a private bathroom with open air shower. From the balcony, each casita offers its own unique and stunning vista. Whether you prefer jungle, mountains, cloud forest, or partial ocean views, we have a casita just for you. Enjoy the view from your oversized teak rocker with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. All rooms contain Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee, toaster oven, service ware, safe, and ceiling fans. Bathrooms feature top quality towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash plus hair dryer and retractable clothesline. One dedicated parking space is provided for each casita. You will enjoy access to The heart and soul of Nature’s Edge, Terraza de Alma is designed for guests to immerse themselves in mesmerizing views and ever-changing horizons. Meet, gather, read, swim, lounge and eat at this tranquil retreat featuring an expansive deck jutting out over the jungle. Take a dip in the shimmering salt-water pool or relax in a cushioned teak lounge chair. Chill out in the covered lounge or explore your master-chef desires in the fully furnished kitchen. Breakfast is served poolside in the terraza, every morning (extra fee); beverages, including alcoholic drinks and snacks are also available upon request at a nominal fee. Beer comes from a local brewery while the wine selection -- from Chile, Spain, and Argentina -- was hand-selected (well, pallet-selected) based on quality, flavor, and price. The local adventure playbook includes everything from ocean water sports, surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding to nature hikes, horse-back and ATV rides, ziplining and mangrove river tours. Our convenient location is a short drive up the mountain from the main highway and allows easy access to Uvita’s bustling town where you will be able to enjoy local restaurants, grocery stores, and excursion shops, as well as being close to over a dozen of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches. Uvita is in the southern Puntarenas province near the Osa Peninsula. The town is beautiful placed between two amazing Costa Rican National Parks; to the north, approximately 1 hour, lies the famous Manuel Antonio National Park and to the south, approximately 2 hours is the Corcovado National Park, which holds 5% of the biodiversity on this side of the planet. The Costa Bellena Region consists of Dominical, Uvita, and Ojochal, the area is known for having rainforests collide with the sea to provide a natural oasis of beauty. Each town in the area has a different vibe with local restaurants and activities sure to meet all your needs. A 4X4 SUV with low gear is required as our mountain road is steep. Renting a 4X4 and having the freedom of driving your own car allows you to explore all that Costa Rica has to offer! Our recommendation is a Mitsubishi Montero Sport 4×4 AT or Similar, alternatives are either a Hyundai Santa Fe 4WD AT or Similar or Hyundai Tucson 4WD automatic or similar however these are not true 4x4s and may have issues on the mountain road if there is a lot of rain during your stay.
