Jade Room | Peaceful Antigua home, garden oasis

The "Jade" Room is a private room in Casa de las Mascaras, or House of the Masks, an authentic, eclectic, and peaceful place to enjoy your stay in Antigua. We named our home Casa de las Mascaras because of our collection of masks that we think add culture and color to the space, corresponding to the larger collection of typical artwork and textiles. The Avocado Room is an extension of the beauty and color found throughout the entire home with a view overlooking the garden. The home is a combination of eclectic and traditional, with vibrant colors from political, cultural and even thought-provoking paintings as well as typical Guatemalan textiles in just about every corner! This vibrancy extends to the garden which we consider part of the "decor." The main corridor where all of the bedrooms are, wraps around the garden. Throughout the home, there are ample spaces for guests to relax and enjoy such as the garden, sitting areas, and plenty of hammocks. We live in the upper level annex of the home, but the spaces downstairs (the kitchen, library, garden, pergola, etc.) are spaces just for guests. We have a bell the guests can ring in case they need something, and if we're not home, we are sure to give our cell number so we can be reached. The house is located in a residential neighborhood right on the outskirts of downtown Antigua. It is close enough to easily walk to downtown Antigua to enjoy all the city has to offer, yet on the outskirts with a touch of nature to make it feel like you're not quite in a city. As a residential neighborhood, it is quite pedestrian friendly without much traffic to worry about. There are several small shops and a recommended restaurant around the corner. The Antigua bus terminal is about 10 minutes walking distance. Reglas de la casa -We have a one cat in the house -The first 2 guests is same price. Extra cost for a third person is $10.00 US -No smoking or drinking alcohol inside the rooms. * Moderate alcohol consumption allowed in common areas (under the hosts supervision and acceptance) -If you use the kitchen, please wash and put the dishes away. -Keep bedroom door closed and turn off light when not in the room. -Quiet hours 10:30 pm - 7:00 am -Events and parties are to be hosted by guests only and to be kept small.
