Lots of peace and privacy + great common space for hanging together. Soaring veranda w/ delicious breezes and killer view of sea & sunsets! Guests are invited to enjoy the whole property, and to explore the farm with its gardens, fruit trees, waterfalls and rainforest swimming hole, goat and chickens. Situated between inland San Isidro and coastal Dominical, the road through our town is one of the best in CR. A 1.4 km unpaved secondary road leads you to this jungle paradise. The house is always appreciated for its privacy but should the need arise, our caretakers (who live at the farm entrance) are almost always reachable. They are a lovely, honest, responsible Tico couple with 2 little girls. From December-May the owners live elsewhere on the farm and are happy to greet you and assist. They will provide a written guide to the house and region. This region attracts nature lovers and has been developed (such as it is) with respect. Yoga and Qi Gong classes are available, massage, flying trapeze lessons, rappelling and rock climbing, rafting, horse-back riding,etc. Our neighbor Dylan runs the best surf school in Dominical(Sunset surf (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Don't miss our community farmers' market every Tuesday with organic produce and crafts! is a highlight. A 4X4 isn't strictly necessary during the dry season, but is generally a good idea whenever exploring Costa Rica. I would highly recommend renting a car in order to fully take advantage of your vacation. If you must do without a car, there is bus service at the top of our road. This could be an option if you want to rest and settle down in a kind of retreat. Our written guide tells how to travel from the airport; there are several options: $175 taxi,$7 bus ride leaving hourly from Musoc station in San Jose; or renting a car at the SJ airport or in near our home with Brunca rent-a-car in San Isidro. This is a birder's paradise! The biodiversity is astounding and the climate delicious, not as sweltering as the coast with lovely mountain breezes. The sea is a gorgeous 30 minute drive away. The local community of ex-pats and Ticos is vibrant with many artists, healers and permaculturists. There are stellar eco-adventures available nearby, and fabulous treks right out the door.
