Enjoy 1200 sq’ (+200 sq’ deck) of spacious living in this light filled, 2 bed, upper suite with fully equipped kitchen, lots of parking and close to all amenities right on the ocean! At the mouth of the LaHave River, Dublin Shore is 5 minutes from the LaHave cable ferry to Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Chester,.......all towns full of art and history and great restaurants! (Website hidden by Airbnb) south and walk/swim at Crescent Beach, Rissers Provincial Park or a glass of wine at the Petite Rivière Winery The apartment has views of the ocean from every window! It is an upstairs fully equipped apartment with its own private entrance. There are windows all around but the best view is toward the sea, while sitting comfortably on the deck and watching the ever changing ocean ebb and flow. There are 2 good sized bedrooms with new queen mattresses and great closet space. The kitchen has a large table that seats up to 8 people comfortably, full sized oven, blender, toaster, pots and dishes for making fabulous dinners. There is a good sized bath/ shower which overlooks the ocean. This is a very comfortable apartment with free wifi and a television but you will probably want to get out and explore the area which offers varied activities from hiking, kayaking, swimming, amazing history and museums as well as shopping and world class restaurants. Lots of birds and wildlife. The property is right next to the government wharf where you can see lobster boats, nets and traps. The lobster season for the south shore is from December to May however so the wharf is low on activity during the summer months. Guests are asked to refrain from using the private backyard which is exclusive to the lower apartment. There are many trails and roads to explore nearby and not far... lovely Crescent Beach or Rissers Provincial Park I live on the main level and like my privacy and so I will always respect yours as well. The backyard is restricted area, for use by the lower apartment. Please note that I am always available for help or information for your vacation plans, so please don't hesitate to ask. Dublin Shore has a great Saturday market with local farmers and makers selling their delicious organic foods. Breakfast is available at the famous LaHave Bakery or a kilometre down the road at The PloughMans lunch with its home made ice cream and delicious sourdough bread...and croissants as good as any in Paris! The LaHave bakery is 5 minutes the other way and includes a bookstore and handmade local goods market and a food/grocery store on the bottom level. You can sail, kayak or paddle board from the Cape LaHave Paddle Adventures within walking distance from the suite. Or you can fish off the wharf when Mackerel are in season! Bridgewater, with all the amenities of a city is just 20 minutes away at the top of the LaHave River. Or you can take the LaHave Ferry to Lunenburg, a UNESCO world heritage site for shopping, culinary adventures and museums and ghost tours. There is a thriving Lunenburg School of the Arts that offers fabulous week long workshops in pottery, drawing, painting and printmaking. Or the famous Bluenose may be in harbour and you can take a ride on this historic ship. Serenity or adventure, there's lots to do here! This is a diverse area with a working wharf next door and long, shallow beaches to explore. Museums, art galleries and antique stores abound. You could bike through the LaHave islands, minutes away, or relax in the warm sun with your book by the sea. There are hiking trails along the shore with stunning views everywhere. Across the river near Riverport The Ovens offer a unique cave hiking experience right by the sea. Mahone Bay is nearby and is a lovely place to shop and take pictures of it’s historic 3 Churches by the Bay. Have lunch on the deck of local restaurants and look out over the Bay and the sail boats moored there. Further north ( 10 min from Mahone Bay) is Chester a very old seaside summer home town famous for its sailboat race in August every year and its live Theatre, the Chester Playhouse. If you travel south along Highway 331 you will find the best beaches in Nova Scotia where you can swim and surf and hike the trails. Check out Rissers Provincial Park, Crescent Beach, Broad Cove, Medway River and more. There is SO MUCH TO DO! About an hour from the airport and 1.5 hours to Halifax. One needs a car since there is very limited public transit. I have a midsized dog who takes priority over other pets. She barks to guard but would not hurt anyone. Your pets are welcome but please respect our space. I use scent free products for all the cleaning and laundry. There is no smoking in the apartment but you are welcome to go outside. The deck overlooks the sea and it can get windy up there at times. Please make sure to bring in towels or personal items at the end of the day. Also please remember to turn off the propane to the barbecue after each use. You can easily clean the grills in the kitchen sink. We are LGBTQ friendly.
