Rodney Bay Marina One of the popular attractions when visiting the northern part of the island is the Rodney Bay Marina. As a centre for yachting and sport fishing, it is the most southern Caribbean Marina operated by IGY Marinas. Ideally located in the island’s entertainment capital, it is only a short distance from pristine beaches, stunning scenery, luxurious hotels and tourist hotspots, and is neatly nestled in a well-protected inner lagoon that ensures security and safety for berthing. The 5 Gold Anchor awarded marina was constructed in 1985 and was acquired by IGY in 2007 which led to the rebuilding of the docks and boatyard. Being voted one of the best marinas in the region, it is a premiere destination for hosting mega-yachts and cruisers and the final landing for the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC). This 200-boat sailing regatta for cruisers, which is marked with numerous entertainment and events, attracts up to 270 boats undertaking grueling sailing challenges from the Canary Islands across the Atlantic to the marina annually. With well-maintained docks, it is designed and engineered to serve as a haven, offering as many as 221 slips, 32 mega yacht berths with a maximum length of 200 feet and a 13 feet draft. As an official port of entry, Rodney Bay Marina is known for its experienced on-site customs agents, high-speed fueling, a 200-berth capacity and an adjacent 4.5-acre boatyard with its ability to maintain vessels of up to 75 tons. It also features bars, shops, a pool, restroom and shower facilities, laundry services, banking services with provisioning and duty-free stores. It is only a short distance to a variety of relaxing restaurants, the newly enhanced Bay Walk and Rodney Bay shopping malls, an 18-hole golf course, the Pigeon Island National Landmark as well as a local heliport approximately 20-minute driving distance away in Castries. From the smallest fishing boats, sailing vessels to the most massive globetrotting yachts, Rodney Bay Marina welcomes and creates memorable experiences on the water. You are within walking distance from our sister property, Bay Gardens Beach Resort and Splash Island Water Park but an hourly shuttle service is also provided. There are several restaurants, three supermarkets, two shopping malls and more within walking distance from your villa and many are along the Bay Gardens shuttle route. Public transportation connecting you to the capital city, Castries (Castries Market, Castries cruise terminal and duty free shopping) within 20 minutes is readily available and inexpensive ($1 US per person for a trip to Castries). The same Route 1A bus also takes you north to the Rodney Bay Marina and Gros Islet town (home of the Friday night street party). To go further north than Gros Islet (to get to Pigeon Island or the Golf Course for example) you would need to get a taxi which can be arranged for you by our concierge service at Bay Gardens Beach Resort. A private cook is available to prepare breakfast,lunch,or dinner at an additional cost. Guests can purchase an all inclusive plan at a cost of $144 US per night per person which allows them to get all meals and drinks at our sister properties at Bay Gardens Beach Resort and Bay Gardens Hotel (premium items included). The all inclusive plan also includes daily spa treatments. Of course you can always pay for these on the go if you opt not to partake in the all inclusive plan as the restaurants are open to all!
