Passion Flower Room at Domi Plaza
This little surfer town is a darling gem in the southern zone of Costa Rica, fully equipped with morning bird alarm clocks, beach walks that take you to magical places and dramatic sunsets each and every day. You are a 5 minute walk from the beach - 3 minutes if you power walk. Plus at this location you get high speed internet, an AC and no 4x4 is needed. This room will be your safe haven when it is time to relax and recharge, though you will never be far from the action and attractions of Dominical. Domi Plaza Hostels is geared towards the digital nomad. All rooms have AC and a desk so you can work comfortably in the comfort of your own room. With access to 200 meg high speed internet, video calls and long, tedious projects will not lag allowing you to work with ease. The shared kitchen is well equipped and each room is provided with storage containers so left overs (or meal prep) can be kept separately in the fridge. We also have laundry service (for an extra charge) that is dropped off to your room when finished so you can have nice clean clothes for the next bout of work. Please note that the restaurant next door is open. Normally music is played for dinner service and a few nights a week it turn into a late night bar. If you are a light sleeper or noise sensitive we absolutely do not recommend staying here. If that is not a problem or you find yourself up late most nights you will find this space to suit you well. We hope you enjoy the space, the people and amenities that come with it to make the most of your time while you are here in Costa Rica. The room is obviously your to enjoy however you see fit - though no parties are allowed. - The hostel kitchen is to be shared with everyone so please be respectful of other guests and clean up after yourself - There is also space to hangout in the front courtyard - The pool tables and ping-pong table are also available for your use. Please ask one of our staff members to give you balls and paddles if you need them. They will ask for ID and your key for verification, so please have those on you. We (Luke & Olyvia) have pretty sporadic schedules that are never set in stone. Should you ever need anything Olyvia is around more during the mornings, where as Luke is the night owl. Please just give us a message and we will help where we can. Also, feel free to speak with any of our staff as they are also very helpful and willing to be of assistance where possible as well. Dominical is all of 3 streets, so finding your way around is an absolute breeze. Besides the beach, which is absolutely magical at low tide if you are into beach walks, there are plenty of other activities to fill your days. For restaurants, there is everything from micro breweries to sushi to local fare - there is something for everyone. There is an organic grocery store that will make you feel like your in a little Whole Foods (prices are not much different) and an ice cream shop with all organic products. Our favorite café is One Love Cafe right on the beach, complete with reggae vibes. We might be a little biased, but we stand by our biased-ness. For kids there are surf lessons, Spanish classes, the outdoor park at the beach and the beach itself. All in all, Dominical is a holistic paradise with something for everyone. To get around Dominical the best way is to walk. Nothing is far and gratefully the roads are mostly paved, so barefoot is totally optional. There is also a place where you can rent bicycles in town, so let us know and we can reserve one for you for your day of arrival. There are 4 bus stops in town and while there is a bus schedule it is on Tico Time - so anticipate a 10 minute delay *at least*, sometimes it does not even come. These buses can get you anywhere you want to go, from the neighboring town of Uvita all the way back to San Jose and over to the Caribbean Coast. For any adventuring (read waterfalls, hikes, nature parks) you are most likely going to need a car. There is a rental car place in town and if you are looking for a deal please let us know and we will work to hook you up. Because of the amazing location of the property there will definitely be a lot more people in the vicinity on the weekends. If you enjoy nature walks and going to waterfalls the best days to do these things would be Monday through Thursday. Friday and Sunday are best spent lounging around the property enjoying the beach as the other attractions are usually flooded with tourists.
