Romantic room on beachfront estate
Sunny room with a private entrance, bathroom and large closet, cheerfully furnished with queen-size, four-poster bed. Veranda with amazing view over plantation and bay. Shared kitchen, dining, living and laundry. Great for hikers and nature lovers. A room with a view! This recently built room is part of a house of character constructed of local stone and wood 50 years ago. In addition to their room with private bath, large locked closet and shared balcony, guests may use the kitchen, porch with seating and dining areas, elegant living room, garden and laundry areas. Guests can find often me in my home office or at our restaurant on the beach below our house. I'm a busy running a hotel and real estate businesses, so I'm not going to crowd you. I do aim to be available to answer questions and address problems. Hundreds of acres of forest, orchards, gardens and palm trees on an unspoiled beach, all within two miles of the harbor and town. What's not to like? Norway House is in Crescent Beach, also known as Industry, two miles on the main road east from the harbor town of Port Elizabeth. It is in the middle of an historic coconut plantation that spans a palm-fringed, reef-protected beach. The plantation is now a hotel, Sugar Reef Bequia, with a great house above us and a restaurant, great room and guest rooms on the beach. My guests enjoy the estate, but DO NOT receive the service provided to hotel guests. Many guests will want to rent a car to go to town (twoo miles away) and explore the island's beaches, restaurants and local attractions. Those who enjoy long country walks just hoof it; they can get "dollar vans" to explore the rest of the island once they get to town. It's a hike getting to the room: up our driveway and several short sets of stairs through the garden. We live open to the outdoors, so bugs, lizards and the occasional bat come and go as they please. And we have 2 dogs.
